The Dark Knight stood waiting, he stood in an alleyway, the batmobile beside him. She had told him to meet her here, so where was she? Glancing around the alley once more, he sighed, she wasn't coming was she.
Turning around and jumping into his vehicle, Batman frowned, a small part of him was looking forward to seeing her again, he had only seen her once before. Something had sparked inside of him, something needed her.
Suddenly, right before the roof closed, a dark figure dropped down into the passenger seat of the batmobile. Surprised, the Bat looked over, and he felt like smiling, until she spoke.
"Drive Bruce." Crimson Fox said suddenly, not even glancing at him.
Obeying, Batman stomped down on the gas, and the vehicle flew forward, the two of them being pressed back into their seats. A laugh left Fox's lips, she loved the thrill of the chase, she loved the fast cars, she loved running.
"Where are we going." Batman asked gruffly, some part of him still wondering how she had found out his secret identity within one time of meeting him. He felt her eyes drift to him once, then turn back to the road.
She grinned, "Anywhere." Crimson Fox loved to run, she always has, so driving or riding in extremely fast vehicles was just as good. Fox always, even when she was little loved fast things, little toy cars, fast bikes and motorcycles, and skateboards and roller-skates. A grin on her face, Fox looked at the Bat, she could grow to enjoy this kind of thing, her killing a villain, then getting away with a hero, and he didn't even know what she did.
"What are you running from this time?" Batman asked, not looking away from the road, like a good driver.
Fox giggled, "Ah, you know, goons, cops, the usual."
"The usual doesn't happen to involve death again does it." Batman stated gruffly, the last time she had gotten a ride from him, it was because she was running from the Riddler's goons, she had attempted to kill him, to end it.
The woman beside him just frowned. Turning away from him, she spoke quietly, "Just drop me off her."
He frowned, she did kill someone didn't she, "Okay," he said, pulling into another alleyway, the top of the batmobile slid open, allowing her to leave. Fox hopped out of the vehicle, then walked to the wall and sat down, her back leaned against it. Batman followed, crouching down beside her.
"I'm trying to stop, Bruce, but I can't... I just keep being dragged back into this life, I know what I'm doing is bad and that I shouldn't go around killing villains, but something inside of me won't let me." she said, and he surprised to find tears streaming down her face, her mask now soaked with the salty water.
Taking a risk, Batman slid his arms around her and pulled her body close, he was crouched in a fatal position, and she was curled up in his arms. His cape covered her, and she was nearly invisible to someone who didn't know she was there.
Reaching up to her face, Bruce gently slid off her red fox mask, and leaned down, kissing her tenderly. What surprised him more than him kissing her, was the fact that she kissed him back, her body stretching out a bit so she could wrap her arms around him. Pulling back, Batman spoke, "You don't have to run anymore, I can help you. I can help you stop running."
The tears starting to dry on her cheeks, Alister gave him a small smile, "I would like that."
That night Bruce took her home, and the next morning, he announced to his bat-family, AKA Nightwing, Oracle, and Robin, that she was a new member of their family, and her new name, was Batwoman.
