[ Avery's pov ]

"Come on Ali, the Dallas family will be here soon." I say as she attempts to brush her hair.

"I need help." She pouts folding her arms.

I laugh and grab the brush pulling half of her hair into a little ponytail and twisting it into a bun.

"There you go." I smile. She turns around and gives me a big hug.

I quickly check in the mirror to make sure I look decent.

I'm wearing a black skater dress that goes about mid thigh and white sandals. My hair was perfectly straightened and I had on my usual makeup.

After I decided I looked decent enough I grabbed Ali's hand and walked downstairs.

"Mom, do you need any help?" I ask. She nods rubbing her temples.

"Can you tell Sam to hurry up and Ali can you help mommy set the table?" Ali nods and I head back upstairs to Sam's room.

I knock on the door waiting for Sam to answer.

"Sam? Can I come in?" I ask confused as to why he's not opening the door.

After waiting a little longer and not getting a response I push open his door to find him playing his dumb video games.

"Really Sam? The new neighbors will be here any minute! Mom is really stressing out, you need to get ready!" I say blocking the tv.

"Come on! I need to beat this level!" He whines. Ugh. 10 year olds.

"No. Mom needs help. Dads on a business trip. Now come on and get dressed." I reply grabbing his controller and turning off the tv.

He groans and starts to look through his closet.

"I don't know what to wear!!" He yells flopping in the floor. Drama queen.

"Oh come on, you're worse than a girl." I sigh picking out a blue button up shirt, khakis, and his sperry's.

"Here, now put this on and then come downstairs." I sigh walking back downstairs.

"Is he getting ready?!" My mom asks making me jump.

I put my hand to my chest and my heart starts to go back to its normal pace.

"Oh my gosh mom?! Don't scare me like that!" I laugh.

"Oh and yeah, he should be down any minute." I smile.

She nods. "Can you help Ali set the table?" She asks. I nod and get the utensils.

I show Ali how to properly set the table. Sam then comes downstairs and we get everything ready.

** DING DONG **

"I wanna get it!" Ali yells skipping to the door. I walk behind her making sure she can open the door.

To my surprise, she could. The door swings open and I catch it before it hits the wall.

"Hello, come on in." I smile.

"Thank you." Gina replies as the Dallas' come inside.

I see an unfamiliar face follow Gina inside. I immediately feel insecure considering the girl is gorgeous. I'm guessing it's Cameron's sister.

Cameron begins to walk inside and I grab his wrist catching his attention. He has a confused look on his face.

"I-is that y-your sister?" I stutter. He laughs before replying.

"Yeah, why?" He smirks. I glare at him and walk into the dining room.

We all sit down and begin to put the food on our plates.

"Can we pray? Is that ok with you?" My mom asks Gina.

"Of course. We pray too." She smiles. My mom nods and looks at Sam.

"Sam, will you pray for us?" She asks. Sam nods and we all fold our hands and close our eyes.

"Our father in heaven, we thank thee for our food. Please bless that it will make us strong. Amen." He ends the prayer.

We all say amen and begin to eat making small talk here and there.

I look across the table to see Cameron and notice he was already staring at me. A shade of pink arose on his cheeks as he looked down at his plate.

I smirked and began to eat again. We all made jokes and learned more about each other.

Sierra is really cool and I already think of her as an older sister now.

My mom and Gina are getting along very well. I already get along with Cameron and Sam seems to like him.

Everyone thinks Ali is adorable and she truly is. I'm so grateful to have an amazing family and now three good friends.

I'm glad that everyone in our family and the Dallas' family like each other.

They're fitting in.

Sucky chapter I know. I'm just proud I updated more than once in a day lol! Well, I'm tired so I'm going to sleep lol not that y'all care...

You're perfect just the way you are, don't beat yourself up, because society has it all wrong - Cameron Dallas

Stay strong loves xx
