Elena POV:
"ELENA, WHERE IS OUR BREAKFAST YOU WRETCHED GIRL?" Stepmother screamed as I ran up the stairs, tripping every couple of steps getting caught on my blue and grey working dress, my corset slowly becoming tighter from tripping.
"Here madam..." I replied breathlessly as I placed the fine china containing several fruits on the table in front of my wicked step mother and sisters. How they could afford this I have no idea of, we can barely afford the barley we feed the sheep let alone fine fruits from around the world.
A slap around my head awoke me from my day dreaming.
"Elena, what on earth is on your face?!" Stepmother glared at me in disgust."Elena has been sleeping by the fire again mother, like the dirty rat she is." My stepsister, Gwyneth exclaimed, giggling with her other retched sister.
"We should call her dirty Ella!" Clara exclaimed after, her giggles not faltering.
"No, no I got it, Cinderella!" Gwyneth cried out in a fit of laughter.
"Girls, girls calm down. What are you still doing here Cinderella?" Stepmother responded slyly, causing more laughter to erupt from the girls.
"I was going to ask ma'am if I could go visit my mothers grave at the willow tree, I promise to be back in time to do my chores and cook lunch with the other servants." I said quietly, picking at the loose threads on my brown working apron.
"Fine." Step mother said paying no attention to me as she stuffed her face with fruits. "Just be warned, if you do not return at the time the sun is half way in the sky, I will personally beat you myself!"
"Oh, thank you ma'am I promise not to be a minute later!" I rushed out before running towards the stable, hearing the girls laughing and making remarks about me, stepmother making no fuss to stop them.
As I reached the stable I saw my fathers horse, Ima, a beautiful grey/white mare.
"Hello girl." I said as I reached my hand out to stroke her muzzle. "I'm afraid I have no treats today but a ride instead!"
I grabbed the saddle and bridle from next to her stall and slowly tacked her up, ensuring that everything is safe and secure. Bringing Ima from out of her stable, I mounted on her and slowly walk her away from the barn and into the forest that surrounds our farmhouse.
After trotting slowly in the forest for a few minutes I heard the sound of a horn and several horse hooves that sounded to be coming this way. Only after a few seconds of hearing the horns, I saw a skinny, frail fox that seemed to stop and stare in fear once it saw me.
"You must go now and quickly, I will stop them!" I whispered to the fox.
Seeming to understand me, it quickly sped off into the bushes, leaving me to move Ima in front of them, protecting the fox from whatever beast it was running from. I was pulled from my thoughts when I saw a young man who seemed to be my age stop in front of me, on a gorgeous black stallion.
"Excuse me miss." He said breathlessly. "But by any chance have you seen a fox go pass you at anytime?"
Realising that the man infront of me was the one trying to hurt the poor soul, I moved Ima forward, anger flowing through my body.
"Yes I have actually, but I'm afraid I shall not tell a living soul of his whereabouts! Scaring an innocent creature like that! Do you people have no morals?" I exclaimed, leaving the man confused.
"I don't understand, you don't like hunting?" He said with an eyebrow raised, moving his steed forward as well, leading to us circling each other.
"Why should we hurt innocent animals for games? Surely you wouldn't wanted to be hunted?" I said glaring at the man.
"I suppose not..." He replied, staring at me with a strange expression like he is wondering something. "What is your name anyways?"
"Why should I tell you that, it is not important anyways..." I replied becoming more and more confused to why the man is talking to me.
"I was just wondering, it is not safe for a young maiden such as yourself to be out in these woods. You don't know what beasts there might be" He replied, seeming to become more and more interested in myself.
"Beasts like you?" I replied snarkily remembering what this man was originally going to do.
He let out a loud laugh, seeming to find the topic of hurting an innocent soul amusing.
"Look how about this, if I tell you my name, you can tell me yours." He replied after, becoming more desperate to know who I am.
"I am..."
"Michael! Where have you been? Your father wants us at once!" A man dressed in similar clothing to who'm I now know is Michael.
"Michael hmm? Well it was a pleasure meeting you Michael but I must go. I promised to be home before the sun reached mid-point and I already have so much to do!" I replied, seeing Michael staring at me desperately as I turned Ima, and started galloping off into the woods.
"Wait!" He cried out. "You didn't tell me you name!"
I looked back seeing him still staring at me desperately.
"You can call me Cinderella!" I shouted back before loosing sight of him as I went further into the woods.
A/N: Yay they met! Anyways, this story will have random updates as I am certainly not the best at time management. Anyways, remember to vote and comment your thoughts or questions!
