Chapter 5

Asia

I was backstage running through my solo really quickly and stretching. I need to win this so that I can show Mackenzie that she should be afraid. I'm usually very friendly and nice but she pushed my buttons and I'm going to push hers. I took a deep breath as my number was called on stage.

Mackenzie

I repositioned myself in my seat as Asia walked on stage. Her and her music started going simultaneously. So far so goo- I mean great. If I slack off even a little she could end up beating me every week. She finally finished and walked like a dog off stage. I turned to see Abby, the moms basically the whole crowd giving her a standing ovation even the judges. I barely get that reaction from the crowd anymore and she can waltz up in here and get it. I guess she's just better. My mom always tells me not to think like that but what's a girl to do if the thoughts creep up on you. I wish i had some chips.I turned my attention back to the stage which Maddie was now on, she was in the middle of the routine. When she finally got off stage we all headed back to the dressing room, in mid step my Mom whispered in my ear, "Limp!". I just rolled my eyes and continued to walk normal. Asia suddenly stomped pass me and stepped on my 'hurt' foot.

"Owwww" I yelled. It really did hurt this time.

"Kenzie what happened?" my mom asked.

"Asia stepped on my foot" I said glancing at Asia.

"It was an accident" she said sweetly.

"It's fine then right Kenzie?" My mom asked me. I just nodded I really wanted to scream out to Asia..

'Cut the act shrimp you did it on purpose you eyebrow raising twirp" but I didn't.

Asia

I did awesome on stage now Kenzie needs to stay out of my way. I stepped on her foot on purpose. That's what she gets!!
