So here I sat in the Studio B dressing room waiting for Asia to return. You see, Abby dismissed me from the group dance because I have a duet and solo. She thinks it would improve my dancing if I only have to juggle two routines instead of three.

Asia is my duet partner and she also has a solo. Which is why I'm waiting for her to waltz in here like the diva she thinks she is.

No, we didn't plan this. It sorta just fell into place last minute.

I was pulled out of my whirlwind of thoughts when Asia arrived looking pissed if you ask me.

I quickly turned my phone on record, hoping that this would work the second time around.

"Hey Asia," I called giving a three-fingered wave, "What's wrong?"

"Abby is doubting me. I can handle three dances , I've done it before." She ranted.

In inwardly rolled my eyes.

"Why're you complaining-I mean this is giving the other girls a chance to shine."

"Yeah well they can shine a little dimmer." She spat. I could tell she was imagining the girls' faces.

"You're very cocky." I stated sourly.

"An you're an amazing dancer," She said sarcastically. "Oh and stop recording me."

I froze, my mouth hanging open. I felt myself getting angry-who wouldn't- I failed my friend.... Again!

The girls soon filed in with a look of hope in each of their eyes according to them Asia had left class early.

"Did ya get it?" Maddie asked excitedly. I looked down shame filling my body from head to toe.

"No."

They gasped. "She's too smart for her age. I keep trying to record her but it isn't working."

Paige and Nia smirked.

"What?" I asked.

"We installed a surveillance camera in the wall decor."

And for the first time in what seemed like forever, I smiled- a smile filled with joy, thanks, and hope.
