A Fairy Tale Of Violence

Chapter one

The trees surrounding me, they made no sense. The leaves were blue, the trunk was purple, the colours blended together. The grass that i lay on, was long, soft, made my body feel relaxed, calm, my wings were spread out wide, I could smell lavender, so very strong that it made me dizzy and sleepy. I blinked slowly, looking at the blood red sky, which seemed to spell out danger. There were yellow and pink clouds, all sharp and pointy and mean, they spoke nasty words to me, whispered foul things. I see the creatures, the things that remind me of animals, as they float around me, singing and sighing in fear and pleasure. When will i ever leave this place? This horrifying, nightmarish place, i let myself sleep, fearing and wondering, dreaming and soaring. When i awoke, there were creatures; beautiful creatures i had never seen before, that watched me with intrest alight in their eyes. They looked like something familiar... i searched for the answers i knew i had in my head. My head had begun to hurt when i remembered. They looked like a wolf. Blue manned wolves. They stood tall and elegant, their posture erect. They were all black or white, no greys or mixed colours. They all had black eyes and handsome features. One, an especially large one, took a step towards me before halting suddenly, like it had just walked into a wall, which it practically had. I sat up then stood, stretching tall, enjoying the feeling. I walked slowly over to where the creature was. It growled at me but i simply smiled dreamily. I let my fingers brush against the invisible wall - my prison.

"Trapped forever." I said, but it sounded like a sigh.

The creatures ears pricked up and he looked at me intently.

"So you speak the tongue of humans, English." It said its voice husky and dark.

I nodded, a bare movement, then let myself fall so that i was lying down, even falling felt like it was too heavy, too sluggish. I let my eyes slide shut, already feeling the effects of moving.

"Why are you here?" he asked, for it was obviously a male.

"I am a sacrifice. I have no choice, of course. I am trapped here till i am called forth. If i try to move too much, i feel weak instantly, if i try to throw things at the shield around me, or hit it and i get zapped." I sighed softly.

"Why have you been chosen as a sacrifice, though?"He asked, intrigued.

I sat up slowly and allowed my wings to spread out. "I am not sure of what you know of the Bakhtaks and the Angels-"

"I know enough."

I nodded absentmindedly. "Well, my mother was an angel, beautiful and shinning... white..." i sighed dreamily and almost forgot myself. I coughed quietly. "While my father... well he was in a simpler word - a night demon, a Bakhtaks. He was evil, selfish, he wanted my mother and he took her, simple as. She died in childbirth with me. I killed her." The last was a pained whisper.

"It was not your fault, woman, creatures - most die in childbirth these hard years, it is becoming difficult."

I nodded, smiling sadly to myself. "I am one of a kind, a type of hybrid you might say. Some call me a mutt, a freak, a malfunction. My father was tortured in the most horrible way possible, he was the first ever demon to take an angel by force, in such a cruel way. None others have dared since then."

"But wouldn't that make you thousands, dare i say it, millions of years old?" asked the creature, its eyes were wide in disbelief.

I nodded. "Yes, so it would seem."

"How long have you been here?"

"Oh, my entire life, as long as my time has begun. I have been alone, for so long, so very long. You're the first creature i have met in over six thousand years. I have counted each second, every minute... every everything, till my head hurts, when will my time come?" i said the last to myself.

"I can smell your grief and despair... why must you be the sacrifice?"

"As i have said, i am one of a kind, special. There is a prophecy, one that a mixed child, immortal, can bring around the end of the earth - or save it from those of the dark. I have been placed in the other world, hidden from both sides, until my time will come. I have tried to escape, i remember as a child i use to scream and cry so loud till i was raw and numb and ached. When i was a teenager, i attacked the shield, over and over, so desperate to be free, longing to talk to others. I ignored each terrifying shock, each painful sting. Now i just stay, waiting."

"How do you learn things though? You seem to know a lot."

"See that there?" i lazily lifted a hand and pointed my finger at one of the floating creatures. It looked like a robin, but it was black and also transparent. It hissed something rude to us before floating away. "There are thousands like that, they were my only companions. I could never talk to them.... but i listened." I let my hand drop.

"It's time i revealed myself." The creature said.

I turned my head and eyed him curiously.

"My name is Avackner the third. I am king to the Asena's, also known as werewolves, we have come for you, your time in this prison - it's over."
