Callie's POV of first day of the semester

I texted my parents that I arrived as my cab finally arrived at John Hopkins. Couldn't wait until my car arrived since my parents was scared on letting me drive here by myself. I was halfway excited and halfway not only because Danny had broken up with me the day I left NY for Medical School. He was upset because I "chose" my career over my relationship which I didn't but I knew we weren't going to last.

Danny and I were together for about two years. We met my junior year of grad school and everything was great but as we both got closer to getting into our careers, things changed and I was okay with that. Danny wanted to be a Truck Driver and I knew he was going to be on the road a lot, and we wouldn't have been able to see each other since I am going to Medical School, so I had to call it off.

"Thanks", I say to the cab driver paying him and then getting my luggage out of the trunk. I looked on the school map for the admissions office and walked over to get my room number and keys. I wasn't too big on having a roommate but my parents wanted me to make friends so I gave in.

"Your room number is 502, oh and it says here your roommate has already checked in! Have a wonderful semester!"

"Thanks and I'll try", I replied grabbing my things walking out the door

Great, even the desk lady was excited for me to have a roommate.

I took the elevator up to the 5th floor waiting patiently for the doors to open. Once the doors finally open I heard music and it got louder and louder as I walked down the hall to where my room was located.

"Please please pleasee don't let it be my room", I whispered while closing my eyes tight. As I got closer, I moved my head closer to other dorm rooms hoping it was one of theirs but I just couldn't seem to find where the music was coming from. The music got louder as I approached dorm room 502 and sadly it was my room.

Great, I also have a noisy roommate.

I reached up to knock on the door then remembered, wait, this is my room and I do have my own keys. I pulled them out and unlocked the door ready to open but then I heard some whispering and shuffling behind the door. I slowly opened the door to two girls in nothing but t-shirts and panties. What was going on here?

"um hi..you must beee Calliope! um im Arizona, your roommate and this is umm my friend!--"

The first thing I notice was Arizona's blue eyes and long blonde hair. She has this very cheeky smile followed by her deep dimples. She kept a smile on her face as if being happy was the only emotion her brain could produce. Basically she seemed annoying and I already knew we were not going to be good friends. Next.

"wait wait, friend?! ok im officially done Arizona" She grabs all of her clothes and storms out of our dorm.

"WAIT! I DIDN'T MEAN IT LIKE THAT STEPH!"

"Oh, well that was awkward but yes, I'm Calliope but you can call me Callie", I replied with a fake smile.

"well sorry you had to meet me halfway naked, we were in the middle of--"

"No need to explain. I'll just be on my way to my room to unpack so yeah.." I said then walked off to my room.

I unlocked my door and stumbled inside and scanned every area to see how I would decorate my dorm. This was the only highlight to my first day so far but it was okay, I was just ready to start my first day of class.
I fixed up my bed first then began to unpack my clothes putting them into my drawers and also hanging them up. I filled up my mini fridge with my snacks then took note to go grocery shopping later to put food in our shared fridge in the kitchen. I hope I don't have any problems with Arizona eating food that isn't hers this semester. I pulled out my wall decors and all my picture frames so I can see what pictures I wanted to put in them.

"Is that your family?", said a voice coming from the door. I turned around and Arizona was standing at my door with still no pants on.

"Do you even own any pants?", I said eyeing her up and down with a irritated look on my face.

"Oh sorry" she giggled. "I'm just comfortable this way"

"Um k but yes. That's my Mom, Dad, and my sister Aria when we were on vacation in Paris"

"Ooo fancy I see, so where you from?"

"New York"

"What's your career choice?"

"Orthopedic Surgeon"

"Oh, why that?" Arizona said with a confused look on her face.

"Why are you asking alot of quest--wait what do you mean 'why that'?"

"I mean..everyone knows Pediatric Surgeons are better than fixing a couple of bones", Arizona said with a slight smile.

I couldn't believe she referred to my career choice as "little bones".

"Do you know how much time and pain it takes figuring out how to reconstruct someone's bones if their injuries are severe? It's alot to handle", I said with a stern yet calm look on my face.

"Well..dealing with the life of tiny humans and sometimes having to tell their parents bad news is so much harder I have to say"

She was definitely right but I was not about to let her know that she was. I mean who do she think she is trying to make it seem like Ortho wasn't amazing?

"well..Arizona, I liked to finish setting up in peace, k? thanks"

"well..Callie, carry on, I have to find stephanie anyways"

I give a fake smile signaling for her to leave and she catches on and leaves.

"So annoying", I say as I hear the front door shuts.
