Chapter 12

Callie's POV

"Is everything okay?", Mark asked studying my face as I stared out into the distance.

"I'm dead, Arizona and I, shit you too if you're around", Mark followed me to the lounge.

"What do you mean?", he grabbed my arm.

"My dad's in town. My family is Catholic so same sex anything is an abomination to them. He came to my dorm and met Arizona", I put my head in my hand as we sat at the table.

"Did she say anything?", he asked.

I looked up at him. "She said she didn't. She's on her way to pick me up. I think I'm gonna just tell him. I mean, he has to accept me for who I am. He had too because I'm his daughter, right?", I put my folders in my lap seeing Arizona walk through the door.

"Well of course he does but it doesn't mean he will, Cal", I nodded my head as Arizona walked up.

"Calliope. You okay?", she sat next to me putting her hand on the small of my back.

"Hey, I'm okay. I think I have to call my dad. I can't hide this from my family anymore", I squeezed her thigh a bit.

"Okay, go ahead. I'll wait here with Mark.", I got up walking off into the hall.

Once I got out the door, I pulled out my phone to call my dad. I fiddled with my phone a bit before pressing the phone icon to call him.

Mija!

Hey daddy, my roommate told me you came by?

Yes, actually. I wanted to see my babygirl. Your mother and I miss you dearly. How's school going?

Oh, it's..going.
I hesitated because the only thing I could think about is asking about Arizona.
But dad...what did you think about Arizona?

She seems like a nice young lady, why'd you ask?

Just asking, are you coming back over?

I have a meeting in a few but I can make it after 8, fine with you?

That's perfect, I wanna talk to you about something, I met someone.

Oh, that's good! Can't wait to meet him.

You'll love them, daddy.

I better, but I have to go, Mija. Te amo, hablaremos más tarde.

After hanging up, I walked back over to Mark and Arizona putting my phone in my back pocket. Arizona stood up walking over to me.

"So?", she grabbed my hand walking me back over to sit next to her.

"I told him I met someone but I didn't say who. He's coming over tonight", I bit at my nails.

"Callie, are you sure you're ready?", she asked rubbing my thigh.

"She's right, Cal. Coming out is a huge step", Mark said. We both looked over at him not believing he said what he said.

"Mark..you okay?", I asked suspiciously.

He stood up. "Why wouldn't I be?"

"Well, one" Arizona added. "You sound as if you care", she rolled her eyes.

"Hey! I can be serious for once", he smiled.

"Yeah, right", Arizona laughed at my comment as I stood up reaching out for her hand both heading to the door.
