"Hey Gajeel." You mused as you poked your boyfriends shoulder. "What (N/n)? It's to early for questions" He muttered as he buried his head into your neck.
You twirled a piece of his hair. "Do you remember how we met?"
He nodded. " 'Course I do. Why?" The last part of his sentence sounded concerned. "I was just asking. Now lets go back to sleep." You hummed and snuggled into his chest.
2 years earlier
"Come on (Y/n), you promised that you would actually show up for this blind date!" Lucy said as she pounded on your door. You regretted agreeing to let Lucy and Erza play match maker for you.
"Lucy's right (Y/n). You promised. Now open this door or I'm breaking it down!" Erza demanded as you got up from your couch and opened the front door.
You sighed, there was no way you were escaping this. They pushed you into your bathroom and layed stuff out onto the counter. Oh no, I didn't think they were going to take it this seriously! Lucy got started on a simple look for your hair while Erza went to your closet and pulled an outfit together.

When Lucy was done Erza handed you the outfit and shut the door. "When you're done come out so we can see." They both exclaimed on the other side of the door. Well no shit. I've got to get out of this bathroom some how. there isn't a window in here sadly. You thought as you got dressed. It was a nice outfit that you didn't even remember owning.
You opened the door with your eyes closed and a set of squeals erupted from the two in front of you. You flinched and opened your eyes, they were both smiling.
"Now then, your date is at the restaurant on the north side of the square." Lucy informed you as she and Erza walked you out of your house and on to the side walk. As you walked down the street from their view you turned the opposite way and went to a little coffee shop. Hardly anyone was in there and the few patrons turned their heads when they heard the little bell chime.
You smiled as you entered. A few people were still looking your way smiled then went back to what they were doing except for one person. Gajeel couldn't help but stare as you entered the building, but when you smiled his mind went wild. He felt confused, yet he knew exactly what he thought. He felt so many emotions, yet everything was blank. He didn't know what to do about this, he has never met someone who threw his emotions for a ride just by smiling at him.
You ordered your usual drink and sat down near one the front windows. Gajeel chided himself for watching you for so long but he couldn't help it, you were stunning. He kept glancing at you and occasionally stared. You acted like you didn't notice him looking but you did. You both knew about each other, but didn't know each other personally. But you knew enough about him to know his personality and knew enough about you to know your personality.
No one knew that you had taken a fancy to him, and you had planned on keeping that way. You looked up to see him moving from his seat. What is he doing? Is he leaving? Oh hell, what if he caught me looking at h- Your thoughts were interrupted when he sat down and cleared his throat.
"Hey Gajeel." You chirped, taking a sip of your drink.
"Hey (Y/n)." He replied.
It was quiet for a few minutes before either of you spoke again.
Well isn't this getting awkward....Wait! Didn't Gray and Natsu set him on a blind date too?
"I take it your blind date didn't go well huh Gajeel." You laughed. He looked down and rubbed the back of his neck.
"Yours didn't go well either since your in here, and how'd you even know i got sent on one?" He said slightly bewildered.
"Well for starters, I never went to mine I came here to hide from it and I ran into you, and secondly Natsu wouldn't shut up about the other day that he convinced you to let him do it. I also take it that Erza and Lucy were boasting about how they got me to agree." You muttered the last bit after you stated the beginning. He nodded.
"Well since you never went to yours and mine failed, would you like to consider this as a blind date. I mean we don't have to, but all things considered it is one since we didn't expect this to happen." Gajeel babbled.
You pondered you thoughts before answering. He's nervous, he's never talks that fast around anyone other than m- OH. He's got a crush on me. His lucky day then because I never thought my crush on him would go any further than a crush.
"I think that would be a great idea Gajeel." You replied smiling and taking a sip of your drink.
A few days later after Lucy, Natsu, Erza and Gray found out what happened they bombarded both of you with questions. They were happy at least both of you at least went on a date.
A few weeks later Gajeel asked you to be his girlfriend and you happily accepted.
The present
"Can you believe it has been two years since that fateful day at the cafe?" You sighed content with your life.
"I wouldn't say fateful day, I'd say it was a fateful screw up. Though I'm glad it happened." Gajeel responded. "Now how about we get out of bed and go get food. I'm hungry." He laughed as he got up and went to go get ready.
"Even if I disagreed we's still end up going." You muttered.
Well, at least he loves me. And he is kind of right if his date wouldn't have went bad and I would've gone on mine we wouldn't be together.
"Come on (Y/n)!" He yelled from another room.
"Alright. Alright give me a minute!" You yelled back, getting out of bed and going to get ready.
Fateful screw up who would've knew this would happen?
