It was coming up to one in the afternoon and I along with a few other creators were just leaving the Youtube Space building, where we had been filming for our youtube ads. Youtube Space is this huge facility where us creators can film, edit, meet, collaborate and just take advantage of all the different production and editing equipment available for us to use to make better content for our viewers. It's basically like a Hollywood movie studio, but made for creators. I love filming here especially if it's for something that Youtube specifically has asked me to do. Like this ad! Youtube has asked me, Grace Helbig, Tyler Oakley and Lily Singh to make a 30 second long video about who we are as creators and what our channel represents and they will be played on YouTube when people go to watch different videos.
We were all pretty good friends if you'd ask me. Like we aren't besties but definitely well acquainted. It's funny because when we all arrived here, none of us knew the other was doing this project, so it was a great surprise seeing each other. I've worked with Tyler in the past, but never worked with Grace or Lily so it was really fun hanging out with them. The director told us our ads will be 'airing' on youtube in about 2 weeks and that we should be on the lookout for them so I'm super pumped about it.
Now I'm on my way over to Target to pick up some road trip essentials for tomorrow. I just need like the basic snacks and drinks and a few beauty things. I'm really excited for the trip. Bells and I haven't seen our parents in about 3 months so I'm excited to actually catch up with them in person and not just over facetime. I would be lying if I said I wasn't excited about Justin coming along with us as well. I don't know where I got the courage to just ask him to come, but where ever I got it, I'm glad I got it. I really want to get to know him as a person. He just seems like a super chill guy behind the whole 'Justin Bieber, the celebrity' image. I feel like we could become really good friends.
Locking my car door, I walked into the store, headed straight for the food section, but not before grabbing a little basket to carry my things in. Humming a random toon to myself, I felt my phone start to vibrate in my back pocket and smiled once I saw who was calling.
"Daddio," I answered cheerfully, walking down the chips aisle.
"Wassup bubs," my dad, David, asked,
"Nothing much, just at Target getting a few extra things for the road tomorrow, what about you? What's moms up to?"
"She's running around cleaning the house before you guys get here. You know her," he said,
"And let me guess, you're sitting in the media room with your feet up, watching basketball?"
"You know me so well," Shaking my head with a smile on my face, I picked up a bag of Lays and placed them in the basket.
"But I was calling to ask if you and your sister got your mother something,"
Oh shit, that's what I still need to get. I knew there was another reason I wanted to come here.
"Good thing you reminded me because I almost forgot. What did you get her?"
"Wouldn't you like to know?"
"Yes," I paused, picking up a bottle of Naked juice, "that's why I asked,"
"Smart ass," he chuckled, "I got her a car,"
"No way! For real?" I asked,
"Yeah,"
"Is it the Mercedes she keeps going on and on about?"
"Yep,"
"Aw dad, she's gonna love it," I smiled down the phone. He's always going above and beyond for my mom.
