Chapter 2

Lauren's P.O.V
When I got to McDonalds I saw Elena sitting in her black explorer. "It's about time." she yelled through the window. "Hey I'm early today." I said. I am kind of a late person. We finally arrived at the school. Elena and I walked in to be greeted by my boyfriend Jacob. He has the most beautiful blonde hair. He is taller than me. Probably 5'9. He came up to me and gave me a kiss on the cheek. When he kissed me he also grabbed my ass. "What did I tell you about doing that in school Jacob." "Well it is nice and fluffy." he chuckled. Elena fell in the floor laughing which caused everyone to laugh. After about fifteen minutes she finally got up.

When the bell rang we all split up and went to different classes. I headed to AP Calculus. I hated the class but to get a good college I needed the credits. When I walked in the class I walked over to the window and sat down. "How are you doing this morning sweet thing." I knew that voice from anywhere. It was Bobby Layne, the player of high school.

"What do you want today Bobby?" "All I want is for us is to ditch school and have a little fun." I was about to punch him but he grabbed my fist. He then tried to kiss me so I kicked him in the balls. But it didn't phase him. After that he attempted to grab my ass. But his hand was grabbed. "You know you should respect women better. " It was a new kid. He was tall with black hair and may I say he looked mighty fine indeed. He looked so familiar. I knew him, but couldn't remember his name. "You should mind your own damn business. " yelled Bobby.

"I would if a piece of trash like you would leave this beautiful young women alone. " said the new kid. They were about to start throwing punches but I jumped over my seat and stood in between them. "Alright boys calm down. No need to fight over little old me and.... " before I could finish I felt a sharp pain in my cheek and fell to the floor.

Bobby had punched me in the face. I got up p!ssed. "What the h*ll was that for." I screamed. "You wouldn't shut up and let us fight." Bobby said with a stuck up attitude. Next thing I know I had Bobby on the ground punching him. His nose was oozing blood. Right when I was about to punch him in the mouth a warm hand grabbed my wrist. It was the new boy. "The teacher is coming and if you keep doing that then you are gonna kill him. " "Fine" I said. Right when I got up I was sucker punched in the head. I fell then tried to get up but everything started to become black.

Dream
When I opened my eyes I saw a mini me in a blue dress. "Lauren you and Damon need to be going or your going to be late for the dance." After my mom said that I instantly knew what was happening. This was the night Damon left me. I instantly ran outside to catch Damon. But all I saw was myself crying and Damon driving away. I chased after him. Thinking maybe if he saw how I looked now he would stay.
Dream over
When I woke I was in the infirmary with a terrible headache. Out of the corner of my eye I saw a figure by the window. Oh my god is that Damon. Wait that is the new kid hold on Damon is the new kid. I knew I knew him. As soon as I realized that I jumped into his arms. I gave him the biggest hug ever. "Is this a dream?" "I am guessing you finally figured out who I was. " he said. I felt something warm run down my cheek. I was crying. "Why are you crying baby girl?" That was my nickname when I was little. "I am just so happy right now!" I blurted. "Wait a minute how do you look exactly the same after all this years?" I said with a questioning look on my face. "Well ... you see that is what I wanted to talk to you about. " Damon what is going on? " "Okay look I am a vampire. I am 515 years old. I was turned when I was eighteen. I am so sorry I left you on your dance night but there was a vampire who was out to get me and I was afraid that they would hurt you. So I left and decided that when you got older and would understand I would come back. " I began to cry even more not because I was upset or scared but my heart was broken again by the same man. "I am so sorry Lauren. I really am. " "Damon you were my first love, and I still love you but I... can't deal with this right now. Give me time. " Damon leaned in to hug me but I got up and ran down the hall into the classroom grabbed my bag and left school.

I needed time to think about this. How could he keep that from me. Will I get past this? I love him so much. Lauren how dare you you have a boyfriend. I finally arrived at my door and ran through the house and jumped in my bed under my covers. My mom wasn't going to be home till midnight so I figured I would go ahead and go to sleep or at least try. I just wanted this day to end.
