I slowly open my eyes, squinting at the sudden light. "Wh-Where am I at..?"

Then I hear someone's voice yell, "She's awake!"

Then I look up to see the nurse at my side, pumping medicine into my IV. Then a young man walks into the room and smiles, saying "Ah, she is." He walks over to me and shakes my hand. "How are you feeling?"

"Shit." I wanted to be sarcastic and say something like 'Oh, great! I was hit by a car and I was kicked out of my apartment and now I'm here but that doesn't matter I feel great!' But I'm under his control right now so I better not be snarky.

"Well I'm sorry. I wouldn't guess you'd be feeling too good after this. Do you remember what happened?" He said, sitting down in the chair beside me.

"No- Well... Yes, I remember everything up until I was hit. Then I remember nothing until right now." I try to sit up but my side is in an immense amount of pain.

"You should stay laying down for a little bit. But you will be able to go home today now that you're awake. But, yes, it is common for you to not remember anything until now. You blacked out. Pretty much what happened was that you were hit, then the person who hit you called us and stuff. We got you back here and you were about for about all night, and now it's about 4 in the morning." He stood up and walked to the other side to check the IVs.

"Who is the dumbass who hit me anyways?" I said, soon regretting my words.

"He's over there, in the corner." Then I look over to see a man, slouched in the chair half asleep. Shit. I'm glad he didn't hear me say that. I hadn't realized he was here. "Could I speak to him?"

The doctor walked over and woke the man up, telling him I was awake, before he left the room. The man walks closer to where I can see him. Then, my jaw drops before I realize who it was.

"No...Fucking way..." I say, staring at the man's face. "Y-You're..." It's Kellin Quinn! He's who fucking hit me!? I felt bad for being rude about it and then I halfway hide my face in the blanket.

"Hi... Your name is... Chassity, right?" He says, with an apologetic look on his face.

"Yes... You're Kellin Quinn." I put my hand over my face as I'm not sure what to do.

"Yes, I am." He says, laughing awkwardly. Then he continues, "Look, I'm really really sorry about what happened. I didn't see you up until my car got too close for me to stop, but luckily I was going slow enough that you're okay. I don't know what I would have done if it was worse. So, I'm really sorry."

I put my hand down and look over at him. "No, it's okay. I wasn't really that mad. If it happened to me I would understand even more. But I'm just shocked that it's... It's you."

"Me? What about me?" He says, laughing a little bit again.

"Like- I love you. Like- Shit.. I just made this really awkward." I laugh at myself, before continuing. "I'm just really shocked you're the person that hit me. Out of all the people and it had to be my favorite person alive."

"But you haven't met me?" He says, sitting down in the chair.

"I don't need to. Well, now I have. But I didn't need to." I smile at him, as I'm still in shock. "But still. Why did you stay? It's four in the morning... You didn't go home?"

He nods no, and then says, "Well, no. Why would I? I'd feel bad just leaving you here after accidentally almost killing you. If you died I wouldn't have known what to do with myself, but you're right here, wide awake. I'm glad nothing major happened."

"Me too." I say, smiling.

Then, the door opens with a new lady coming in with papers. She hands them to me and says, "You're ready to be released whenever. But you shouldn't walk a whole lot, or drive. The hospital is quite a ways from where you live so I wouldn't recommend walking anyways. Do you have someone who can come pick you up? Where do you live?"

"Um... I do, I have my cous- Wait... No. No, I don't. He won't let me li- I mean... Shit. I don't have anyone to come pick me up, and... I live, uh... I actually lived at my apartment..." I say, embarrassed for people to know about this.

"Lived? Do you not know your current address?" She says, with an odd expression on her face.

"I don't have a new address..." I say, hiding my face in the blanket. I already know my eyes are watered up. I don't have a home anymore. I just came to that realization.

Kellin pulls the blanket off of my face, giggling a bit at how I did it.

Before I can continue, I start full-on crying. The nurse's face turns into an apologetic expression and sits down beside me.

"What do you mean? Could you explain to me what's going on?" She starts to unplug my IVs getting me ready to leave.

"I got evicted from my house- yesterday. But, I had nowhere to go. I tried calling my cousin who then gave my old room to his girlfriend of two weeks. Then I called an old friend and she thought I was just using her. So, all my shit is still in the house and I have nowhere to live. So no, no family, no friends, no house. Okay?" I cover my face in embarrassment.

"Well... I can find you a home for people without homes? That might help." She smiles at me with hop in her eyes.

"No... Don't do all of that for me. Please, I'll find a way out of this mess. It may take a bit, before I'm fully healed, but I can try." I give a fake smile at her, when I hear Kellin speak from the other side of me.

"She can come with me!" He says, in a rush of thought I assume.

My mouth drops open and I can't reply. Living.... With... Kellin Quinn? Really? No... It couldn't happen.

The nurse looks over at me and smiles, "Are you okay with this? Do you know this man?"

I nod a yes, slightly but then I say, "Yes, I'm okay- I mean... No." I look over at Kellin. "You can't do that, you don't know me..."

He smiles and then continues, "It's fine, don't worry. I mean, come on. I hit you with my car and you have no place to go back to. It's the least I could do. Besides, what kind of person would I be to let you just go live on the streets without offering a home?"

I uncover my face a bit and stare right at him. "Are you sure...?"

"Very sure!" He giggled a little and we look at the nurse.

"So it's settled then? Can you sign these papers for me?" She smiles and takes them back when I'm done.

And that, is how I ended up riding in the car with Kellin back home.
