Chapter 2: Welcome Back Home (Part 2)

- Max Steven Parker P.O.V. -

"48...... 49...... 50! Ready or not here I come!!" I yelled as I ran off upstairs knowing they all went up there. I mean, come on! It was just too obvious. They were all stomping their feet loudly while they were running up the stairs. They should really be a tad more quiet next time.

When I got to the second floor, I stopped running, and tiptoed my way to the hall. I checked the first room and left the door open just in case someone passes by and starts running off downstairs to the base.

Since no one was hiding in here, I went out of the room, and made my way towards Brittany's room. As I was about to open the door, I heard a noise behind me.

I quickly turned around and saw no one. Then I noticed that the door was slightly open. I walked towards it and I slowly opened the door.

I first made my way to the bed and bent down to check under it, and saw nothing but one green box.

As I stood back up, I saw something move on the floor. I turned my head to the direction of the movement, and saw a pair of feet at the bottom of the light blue-colored curtains in front of me.

Brittany.

It's definitely her.

I mean, who else could be hiding behind the curtain with both of their feet sticking out with, may I add, glittery pink nail polish all over their toenails?

Yup, it's definitely Brittany.

I laughed. "Brittany, just come out. I know you're behind that curtain!"

She comes out and sighs. "Am I the first one again?" she asked with defeat trailing her voice.

Well, as you can see, she's always been the first person that's always been found first whenever we play hide-and-seek.

And honestly, I really must say that she, with no doubt, sucks at this game.

"Yup! You're first again," I chuckled. "Now, come on and help me look for the others." I said as I walk towards the open door.

"Alright." she sighs, trailing behind me. It's actually funny and kind of amusing that she loves this game so much, even though she knows, herself, that she sucks at hiding.

"AAAAAHHHHHH!!!!" she screamed loudly.

"WHAT? WHAT'S WRONG?!" I asked as I bent my knees while I did my ready-to-attack pose. I looked at our surroundings and saw nothing out of the ordinary.

"Nothing," she shrugged. "I thought it could make Xavier and Alexandria get out of their hiding spot."

"What do you mean nothing? You could've made me deaf, Britt!!" I pointed out.

"I'm sorry.." she said pouting. "Will you accept my apology when I tell you that one of them went to hide upstairs?" she asked, now grinning.

"Yes, let's go!" I said as I grab her hand as we rushed out of the room, and towards the stairs.

When we got to the third floor, we quickly went inside the first room and found nothing. Second room, nothing. Third room, still looking.
