“Marcel, calm down.” Harry said softly through the phone.
Harry’s four friends weren’t around when Marcel had called. The boy on the other end of the phone was sobbing into the speaker. “I-I’m s-sorry.” he whispered hoarsely. “Why couldn’t I have come with you?”
“You wanted to stay there, mate. You told mum so…” Harry said, sitting down on the couch of the hotel room he was now sitting in.
The room was big enough for three people, which was probably a good thing considering he shared it with two of his best friends. “I didn’t mean it. I didn’t want to be separated from you again, Harry.” he whispered back.
“I know… I’m sorry. I’ll come get you next week and you can stay with us the rest of the tour.” he whispered to his brother quietly, rubbing the back of his neck.
“R-really? You’d do that for me?” he asked, sniffling.
“I’m not going to let you stay there without me if you’re getting bullied so much, Marcel. It wouldn’t be right and I wouldn’t be a very good big brother.”
“You’re only older by ten minutes…”
“That’s not the point.”
“I know… I have to go. Class starts in a few minutes.” Marcel said quietly, a tone in his voice saying he’d much rather stay on the phone with his brother than go to class.
“Call me when you get home from school. I love you, Mar.”
“I love you too, Har.”
Harry nodded a little and waited for a minute for his little brother to disconnect before he put the phone down on the table in front of him, holding his head in his hands. Louis walked in after a minute and looked from the phone on the coffee table to Harry. “Marcel called?” he asked quietly, walking over to sit next to him.
Harry nodded a little and leaned back into the couch. “He said that the bullying is getting worse, Louis.” he whispered.
“Do you think people know who he is?” he asked quietly, putting his hand on Harry’s back gently.
Harry shook his head to him a little. “No… He said that he uses a fake last name so no one can make a connection.” he said after a minute.
“So what are you thinking? Because I know how protective you are of Marcel.”
“I told him I’d fly back and get him next week. So he could stay with us the rest of the tour.”
“Are you sure you’ll be allowed to?”
“He’s my brother! No one can tell me what I can or can’t do for him.” Harry said, seriously.
Louis nodded and rubbed friend’s back gently with one hand. “I know, I know. I’m sorry.” he whispered.
Harry nodded a little and looked at his friend. “Do you think he’ll be okay for another week?” he asked quietly.
His friend smiled to him softly. “He’s your brother, Harry. He will be.” he whispered.
Harry nodded a little to Louis and smiled to him. “Thanks, Lou.” Harry said to his best friend.
Louis nodded and smiled to him, ruffling his hair before he got up and got them sodas from the fridge. The door to the room opened again and their other roommate walked in. “Hey, guys.” said the thick Irish accent.
“Hey, Niall.” they said together.
Niall smiled to his friends before he got a bottle of water from the fridge. “What are you talking about?” he asked.
“Marcel called.” Harry said quietly.
“He’s been getting bullied again.” Louis told him softly.
“No way! I thought they stopped.” Niall said, sitting down across from them.
“He said they did but he called me a few minutes ago in tears. He told me he was hiding in the bathroom and when I asked him why he told me that kids were bullying him again and telling him to kill himself, that he was worthless, his family hated him, and they even said he was adopted. I didn’t think he still would believe them but he keeps listening to them.
“Marcel thinks that he’s worthless, he thinks that I hate him, he thinks he’s adopted, and if I don’t get him away from there soon, he might listen to them and kill himself.” he whispered, looking Niall in the eyes. “But I don’t want everyone knowing everything. When I fly back to England next week no one is going to know why until I get him back. For all they need to know, I miss my baby brother.”
Niall nodded and Louis agreed quietly. “Do you want me to go with you?” Louis asked after a minute.
“Erm… Maybe Niall should… Marcel really responds better with Niall than any of you… No offense.” Harry told him quietly.
Louis nodded a little to him in understanding. “Then Niall should go with you.”
Niall smiled to him slightly and nodded. “Marcel’s a really good kid.”
Harry looked at Niall and gave him a small smile. “I know. Thanks, guys.” he said softly.
The three boys got up and moved towards the phone at the same time. “Room service?” Niall asked them.
Harry and Louis both laughed, nodding to Niall. “I’ll order for you guys.” he told them. “Why don’t you go relax?”
“Thanks, Nialler.” Louis said lightly.
“No problem, Lou.” he said as he sat down on one of the beds and picked up the phone.
Louis and Harry went over to the living room like area of their hotel room and sat down on the couch. Harry turned on the xBox 360 and looked for a game for the two of them to play while Niall ordered food for them. The two best friends played video games while the third best friend ordered all of them food and some more bottles of water.
Harry’s phone started ringing on his bed and Niall reached over and answered it as he finished ordering room service. “Harry’s line.” he said in his thick accent.
“Um? Hi my name is…”
