The boy was still sitting next to her. And when she finally tore her eyes away from the man who left without any sort of introduction, she looked down at the little boy, "Who was that? I mean, sure, I know that he is the only one I know the name of, but....that's it. I don't know anything else."

The expectant smiles on everyone's faces faded. She looked at the little boy, asking him why silently; hoping nobody else can pick up their little face to face conversation. But, the boy clearly didn't understand that Khushi would've preferred it that way. He said, "I am Arav." Seeing that Khushi was still perplexed, he continued, "Your son." Those words hit Khushi hard. Her son?

Unfortunately for Khushi, it did not stop there. "Your foster son, I  mean", he quickly added. A beautiful lady with such a sweet face that Khushi liked her immediately walked forward. "No honey, you are as much part of our family as anyone here is. Anyone disagrees?" She looked around. No one said anything, rather, smiled kindly. The boy smiled, touched and clearly assured. Khushi smiled, too. She whispered to him, "Arav, we have a lot of work to do. I don't remember anything, you see." He smiled knowingly and then said, "Well, of course. But, you see, that's a lot of bandages around your head. You need your rest. I'll just leave you to it." Khushi couldn't help but smile seeing the way such a small boy acted so mature, and she saw the others couldn't help themselves, either. She sighed. She really wished that she remembered having such an amazing family.
Later that day, her mother informed her about all that the doctor said. She was lucky to have escaped any major or critical condition because of her defensive instincts.

She begged her mother to treat her as they would any other day and tell the others to do so, too. Her aunt, Mami, was only more than happy to oblige. She wondered why.
