Do you see me

Do you see me,
When I stand in the crowd alone?
Do you see me,
Braving these storms on my own?

Do you see me,
Pretending to be strong?
Do you see me
Putting a brave face on?

Do you see me,
As I cry out for help?
Do you see me,
Whispering for this pain to end?

Do you see me,
As my resolve crumbles?
Do you see me,
As my armour dents?

As once again, my heart shatters.
And yet again, my trust is played with.
And once again, I close into a shell.
Burying myself deeper than I did before.

Tell me do you see me?
Or have I become invisible.
Maybe I always was.
To you, and to the world.

Now you've finally noticed.
The lonely girl in the corridor is missing.
And now that you do see me.
I'm not really there.
