Chapter 5: Sign of Love

Today is the day of the national basketball competition final friendly match. Jiae came alone to support as the others were busy with their own things. This time she got a seat, Jungkook served it for her since he afraid what happened before will happen again today. Jungkook was tidying his stuffs when he heard the locker beside him being smashed.

"Why are you acting like that?" he asked Junghwan, his ex-bestfriend. Their friendship broke at the time where Jungkook was chosen to be the captain of their team and not him. That was when they were both 16. It's been three years, not even a word came out from Junghwan mouth when it comes to Jungkook. Not even today.

"You think you're that great huh? Wait for your death!" Junghwan left the fitting room as he throw his fierce glare to Jungkook.

Jungkook never take what Junghwan said seriously. Even today, he still thought Junghwan as his bestfriend.

As usual, that's how the court always turn to. Jungkook's name was shouted gracefully. Jiae waved at Jungkook, he only smiles as a reply. Jungkook look at Junghwan but Junghwan fiercely locked his eyes to his right hand, tighten his steel bracelet.

Jimin just entered the bus. He was on his way to Jungkook's final match. He yawn continuously as he staying up until about 3am last night. The reason for his late sleep is Jung Hoseok and Min Yoongi. Their plan are still unidentified, no one knows what they're planning to. Not even Jiae, the only girl they're close to. As the bus started moving, Jimin close his eyes to rest his swollen eyes that just occur because he was living against nature last night.

The bus suddenly stopped. Jimin opened his eyes widely as he thought the bus stopped in front of Jungkook's school. He stood up, paid the fees and then walked down the bus when an average height woman dropped a book right in front of him. He picked up the book.

"Excuse me?" as he trying to call the woman.

"The one with pink skirt, are you listening?" his voice went louder.

The owner of the book turned her face, looking straightly at him.

Jimin's face changed abruptly. As if he was in a movie, standing in the slow motion scene. His pupils when larger, his lips didn't touch each other, as if there's a way to walk in through his mouth.

The woman bent her head to make sure what was going on. Jimin's slow-mo scene ended as soon as his eyes blinked. His lips finally gathered, hiding his cracked front teeth. Didn't understood what happened, the woman smile at him then left him. Jimin still locked his eyes on her.

"I don't know what was happening but, her smile was like the calmest thing in this Earth," he whispered himself.

"Ah, but-" he look around, "This is not Jungkook's school!"

There's nothing he can do since the bus also left. His eyes that focused on the book, "This, I didn't return this either. How can I give it to her?" he opened the book and saw a picture, with a name written at the bottom of the front page, Ryu Seolhee.

"Pffffft!" the sounds of a whistle blown. The game stopped in a sudden. Jiae ran to the court as she saw Jungkook was lying down. The other mates pulling Junghwan backwards.

Jungkook sprained his right foot. He can't stand up even how many times he tried to.

"Jungkook-ah, stand up again." Jiae took Jungkook's hand and put it around her neck as she trying to help him stand up. He can't, his right foot swelling even more.

Tears flowing from Jungkook's precious eyes. This is the first time Jiae saw his tears again, after 13 years. Jiae stand up and walked toward Junghwan.

The sound of slapping can be heard, the other students let go of Junghwan's hands.

"Lee Junghwan! You are crazy, chincha!" Jiae shouted it right in front of Junghwan's face. Her tears were restrain in her eyes. Junghwan then pulled by the coach. The medic bolstered Jungkook to the hospital.
