Nicole's POV
"And then I ran to get my phone but the video was gone!" Skylar explained to me.
"Wow," I replied. "And you think they did it?"
"I know they did," Skylar answered with confidence. "Who else would have a reason to get on my phone?"
"Good point," I agreed. "How did they know your password?"
"I have no idea," Skylar sighed.
We sat in silence for a few minutes.
"I wonder how Kyle's doing," I wondered aloud. "Think anyone told him what happened today?"
"Kyle's doing great."
A voice spoke behind us, at the door to my hospital room. We spun around.
"And yes, he heard everything."
"KYLE!" Skylar and I screamed in unison.
"I would run and hug you, but-" I waved my cast in the air. "No such luck."
"I want to go run and hug those football playing sons of-"
"Huh?" Skylar questioned.
"Oh, right. Sorry. Language," Kyle apologized.
"No, not that. You want to hug them?" I asked.
"Yes. Around the neck really hard so they know what it feels like to get beat up," Kyle replied.
"Eh, karma'll get them before we do," Skylar assured us. "If not, we'll still get to them."
"Yeah, once my foot heals and Kyle's dignity is repaired," I joked.
"Hey!" Kyle said defensively.
"Kidding," I told him.
"And I'm 'kidding' when I call you a jerk," Kyle rolled his eyes at me.
"Fair enough," I gave up. "I'm just glad we're all okay."
"For now," Skylar muttered. "We're fine now, but the team isn't going to like that. They'll be back."
"And we'll be ready," Kyle said.
"Definitely," I agreed.
This fight was far from over.
