During my work shift, I was endlessly thinking about Alice kissing me. Now that I was finally finished with my work shift, I was free to call Alice and thoroughly question her about her actions. As I made my way to my car, I pulled out my phone and called Alice. While my phone rung, I turned on my car and waited for Alice to pick up. My phone rung for a while, then went to voicemail. Deciding against leaving a message, I hung up. I put my phone down in a cup holder and closed my eyes, while slowly leaning my head against the headrest. My thoughts traveled to Alice almost instantly.
I thought about all the times she hugged me, and how she would stare at me with her amazing brown eyes; contrasting beautifully with my blue ones. The way her sweet smile always made my day, and I never could wait to get back home to see it again. As I thought about all the happy times with Alice, I got that feeling in my stomach again; but this time I knew what the feeling was. My eyes snapped open, and a huge grin appeared on my face. I had to get home as fast as possible, so I can tell Alice how I feel about her. I threw my car in drive, and took off from the parking lot.
After a few turns and stop lights, I was finally on a straight road that led directly to home. There was only one intersection, where I would turn left and arrive at the trailer park where Alice and I live. Smiling broadly, I pushed the gas pedal all the way to the floor; I was so eager to get home. Looking down I checked my speedometer, it read 65mph. The street that I was on suggested going no faster than 45. But Since I was the only other car on the road, I figured I could speed. Just this once.
I looked at my speedometer again, this time it read 87 mph. As, I looked up at the road, I noticed that my turn was coming up, I also noticed that there was a red light for my turn. Fuck it. I'm not going to stop. I took my foot of the gas and did a sharp turn. At that exact moment, a car rolled into the intersection, no doubt they had the green light. My eyes widened as I realized I was going to crash into the car. I slammed on the breaks, hoping against hope that I somehow wasn't going to hit the car. Unfortunately, I did hit the car. As, our cars collided, I smacked the back of my head against the car seat. Groaning, I realized that my car was still moving, although it was now spinning in the direction of a street light. I snapped my eyes shut, fearing the worst. A few seconds went by and I felt my car hit the street light. It hit the street light so hard that it spun even faster, and tipped on the driver side, sending me crashing against the car door. My eyes opened and I screamed in pain as the shattered glass from my car window dug into my skin. The car slid a few more feet, embedding the glass into my arm and neck, while also scraping my skin as it slid across the asphalt.
As my car slid slowly to a stop, I didn't try to move. The searing pain I felt in my neck and arm was almost enough to make me black out. Instead, I tried calling for help.
"Help me! I can't get out!" I cried, while noticing for the first time that my shirt was getting soaked in blood. "Please!"
I heard muffled footsteps running towards me and I sighed thankfully. "Help?! I'll help you alright! Straight into a lawsuit. You completely totaled my Lamborghini! This is gonna cost you a fortune! Something I'm sure you don't have!" A female voice screeched.
Another voice piped up. "You can worry about that later! She needs help! Miss, I called an ambulance; they should be here any minute now. Just hold on, okay?" Spoke a kind man.
"Hey, I'm still talking to you! You're paying for the damages to my car! Do you hear me? Paying big bucks!" The women screamed again, while kicking her foot up against my car.
Leave her alone! Can you not see that she's been in a terrible accident? What's wrong with you? Suddenly, the man gasped. "Look out! The street light is falling!"
I heard the metal groan and creak, then a sharp snapping sound was heard. I waited with baited breath to see where the street light would land. Of course, It crashed onto my passenger car window, which caused the glass to break and rain down on me. Shutting my eyes quickly, I put up my good arm to cover my face. Luckily, none got into my eyes, and I heard the faint sounds of the ambulance siren. Sighing, I let myself go limp, and darkness consume me.
