The sun. He was like the sun. It didn't matter to you if he was the morning sun or the evening sun or the sun itself. To you he was more brighter than the sun.

❖❖❖

It all started in class. You noticed the orange hair boy was late one day. It was the first time you were intrigued by the male. You would take a glance at him either serious because he was thinking of something or panicking because of a surprised quiz. His expressions were priceless. You would catch yourself watching him helplessly or laughing to yourself.

You could never talk to him though. You were scared and hated yourself for that. You could only watch him from afar.

❖❖❖

One evening, you were walking home to a neighboring shops, "Hi there, young lady." a women said to you. "Walking home?"

"Yes." you answered with a smile, looking nervous. You look at the sunflowers that were right in front of you, quickly reminding you of Hinata. "Are these sunflowers?"

"Hai. Would you like to purchase one?"

"Do you have any sunflower seeds?" you asks.

"Yes." she answered, smiling about to get them.

"Then I'll take those please! Can I have one pack?"

"Certainly. Please wait a moment." the florist said. She gives you the two packs. You paid the florist and quickly started to run home with a smile on your face.

Where did you plant the sunflowers seeds? You planted them near the school's pool. Why? To water them there and it was the sunniest place to grow them at. It's been almost two weeks since you planted them and you couldn't wait for them to bloom. You had decided to confess your feelings to Hinata and give the flowers to him once you did.

❖❖❖

You could hear the sounds of yelling. Not like someone screaming but yelling. You walk to the gym and inside was the orange hair boy jumping. He was smiling that you thought the sun was shoning on him. You walk back to your flower and water it. 'His smile..' you thought to yourself. Your feelings for him was growing.

❖❖❖

One more day till your sunflower was set to bloom. You couldn't wait to convey your feelings. The following day, as the sun was setting, you see the boys practicing on the grass near the place you had planted your flowers. You were walking to your flowers, while holding a water can.

"Ah!" you hear Hinata yells. You see the ball flying. You were afraid that the volleyball might hit the sunflowers so quickly that you drop the watering can and block the sunflowers and tried to catch he ball that was coming towards to you.

Unfortunately, the ball had hit your face. You step back and tripped on the cement's crack which made you hit your poor sunflower. The back of the head hits the ground making you unconscious.

You woke up in the infirmary with two guys yelling at each other. One of the guys were Hinata but you didn't recognized at the other guy who was next to him.

"Um.." you said, interrupting the fight.

"Oh! You're awake! Are you okay?" Hinata say loudly, coming closer to you.

"Yeah.." you answered, softly. For a moment, you thought your voice cracked. Feeling nervous, you knew this was probably the only time you could talk with Hinata. You couldn't say anything.

"Well, I'm leaving." Kageyama announces. ''Hinata, you're taking care of her. It was your fault anyway."

"Oi! Kage-" Hinata say about to chase the black hair boy but he turns around, found out that you had tug his shirt. He didn't know what to do.

"Sorry." you said, letting go. Your cheeks were as red as a rose. You wanted the uneasiness to go away.

"And there you have it." Kageyama said, leaving you two alone.

"You're (L/N)-san, right?" Hinata asks, trying to break the ice. You nod.

"You know my name?" you asks, sounding surprised.

"You're in the same class as me. It would be weird not to remember your classmate's faces." Hinata said, sheepishly scratching his cheek with his finger.

And you had just realized it but it was silent again. Hinata was fidgeting, looking like he had to go the bathroom(even though he doesn't). He looks at you and suddenly looks pumped.

"Osu!" he said, which made you flinch. He grabs something on the floor and brings it up. It was your sunflower that was yet to bloom.

"It broke." he said, nervously. "I'm sorry. It was my fault." He gives you the sunflower but you shook your head. Tears started to fall from your cheeks. "Eh?! Uh.. Please don't cry! I'm sorry! I really am!"

You shook your head again. "This is for you."

"Eh? For me?"

"Hinata-kun. You reminded me of the sun. You were so bright, loud, optimistic, warm, and funny. I would never have the courage to go up and talk to you. I could never be like you." you said, "I had only admired you from afar. I wanted to grow stronger though. I love you, Hinata-kun."

"Ehhhh?!" the orange hair boy yells, turning bright red.

"I wanted the sunflower to bloom so I could convey my feelings towards you. Maybe I was never meant to bloom." you looked down. "Hinata-kun was the sun. The sun that always shone down on a flower like me that can never bloom."

"But (L/N)-san..." Hinata said, "You convey your feelings perfectly. I... never saw you that way." You flinch. You knew it. But, Hinata touches your hands. You look at him, feeling calm. His hand felt hot. He cheeks still looked red. "But I want to see you that way. Can we start off as friends first?"

"S-Sure!" he wipes your tears and smiles at you.

In the end, you, the sunflower blooms beautifully.. all thanks to your sun.
