A lot happens in this chapter and there are a lot of perspective changes so I apologize in advance. I hope you enjoy anyway :)
Over the next few days Kira had gotten used to living in the village. She had met a lot of nice people, and made some friends, but something just didn't feel right. She felt as though she didn't belong in the hidden leaf, like she was doing something wrong or breaking some rule by being there. It was making her paranoid but she tried to push her feelings to the side and learn how to fit in. A few days later, Kira got called to Lady Tsunade's office to talk about something called a "mission". When she arrived she was surprised to see Naruto Kakashi and Sakura standing there.
"Um, what's going on?"
"Kira, hello. Don't worry this sort of thing happens all the time. In fact, it's your job." Lady Tsunade greeted her.
"Job?" Kira asked.
"I'll explain later."
Kira nodded.
"Um, what exactly is a mission?"
"A mission is where ninja go to other villages and help them for money."
"Oh, ok."
"I know it seems like a bad idea to let you out of the village, but we've proven you can defend yourself if needed so I think it will be alright.
Kira nodded once again. She was still extremely confused but these mission things sounded fun so she just went along with it.
"Your mission isn't going to be very hard so don't worry."
"What is our mission?" Naruto asked.
"There was a report of a thief in the village next to ours, the village hidden in the grass. They asked us to help catch them."
Naruto got that look on his face again.
"Alright, bring it on!"
"Okay then. Get going." Lady Tsunade said as we walked out the door.
"Wow." Kira said. "I didn't know there were other places like this."
"Yes actually there is quite a few." Kakashi replied.
"Hm."
"You don't talk much do you?"
"Well, I would talk more but there's not really a lot to talk about."
"That's ok. Sometimes silence is nice."
"Hm."
"Hey guys! Hurry up!" Naruto shouted running ahead. Sakura sighed and Kakashi just shook his head.
The walk to the Hidden Grass way long and, well, strange. Kira kept getting a weird feeling. She didn't exactly know how to describe it. It was like she wasn't supposed to be here. The silence didn't help much either. Everyone stopped talking after a while, and Kira started to hear things. She was glad when Kakashi finally told everyone to take a break. She sat in peace for a moment, though that peace didn't last long. The feeling in her gut grew stronger, she was positive someone was watching her.
"I'm going to go to the bathroom." She said and stood. Kakashi just nodded and she walked away. The farther she got from the group the stronger it got. First it was the feeling of eyes on her back. Kira clenched her teeth and kept walking, not brave enough to turn around. I'm being silly she thought. Nothing is there. There was a snap behind her, making her jump. She sped up, but still didn't look. She didn't know why she was afraid but she was. The footsteps were slow at first. Then they sped up. They got faster. And faster. And faster. Until the person was right behind her. Kira heard to sound of someone taking a breath, and she decided it was time to turn around. She expected to turn around to see some scary guy ready to kill her, but the man she saw didn't look scary at all. In fact, the orange swirly mask made him look like an innocent little kid. She stared at him for a moment before he finally talked.
"It's been awhile since we last saw each other."
Kira's heart froze. Where had she heard this voice before? It was deep and raspy but not exactly scary. She felt as though she was supposed to be scared, but she wasn't. In fact, she felt like she was talking to an old friend.
"W-who are you?" She managed to stutter out. The man laughed and stepped closer to Kira. She backed up until she hit a tree. The man stepped right in front of her trapping her against the tree.
"It seems a part of you still remembers me." The man said.
Kira tried to talk again but all she could do was stutter. She was so confused. This man was so familiar, but she couldn't for the life of her remember who he was. He reached up and put his hand on her cheek. To Kira's surprise she didn't flinch. She knew something like this had happened before. She had been face to face with him like this, but when?
"Don't try to remember. You won't." The man said.
"W-what, w-who are you?" Kira stuttered still confused as hell.
"You can call me Tobi."
"I-I don't understand, what's going on?"
"You want to remember right?"
Words failed Kira again, now she was starting to feel afraid.
"Don't worry. I can help you with that."
Kria was very afraid know. She didn't know why but she knew she had to run. Kira's jumped and tried to get away, as she felt Tobi's hand run up her cheek and over her eyes. She was about to scream but before she could the world went quiet and faded away.
-Naruto's P.O.V-
I sat poking the ground with a stick. It had been about 20 minutes and we were ready to go, we were just waiting on Kira. I was fed up with waiting, I was ready to go now! She doesn't realize she slowing the mission down. Hmpf.
"Naruto if you stab the ground anymore you're gonna crack it." Sakura said annoyed.
"Oh, oops." Naruto scratched the back of his head as he looked at the giant hole in the ground. Sakura sighed and stood up.
"I'll go get her." She walked of in the same direction Kira had. "Jeez, how far did she go?" Sakura thought to herself as she walked farther. Eventually, she ran into a patch of forest where the tree's were so dense no one would be able to walk through them. Sakura looked around but didn't see anything so the decided to turn back. A few minutes later she stumbled across something she hadn't seen before, footprints. She followed them, wondering why Kira went out this far. She stopped suddenly. Her mind went to the worst possible idea's when she saw the second set of footprints. They went up to one of the tree's and just vanished. She raced back to tell the others what had happened.
-Kakashi's P.O.V-
"Again!?" Naruto shouted in disbelief. Kakashi sighed.
"Calm down, it's not like she's in danger. If someone wanted to kill her they would have done it already. Let's just finish the mission and go back to lady tsunade."
"But-!" Naruto protested.
"Let's just get this over with Naruto." Sakura eyed him angrily.
"Fine." Naruto said. They packed up their things and started down the path again.
-Time Skip (sorry about all the p.o.v changes)-
The three had finished their mission and were on their way back to the village. The mission was fairly easy, just some teenagers who had gotten to cockey and decided they could rob someone's house. The real problem was where Kira was. Almost as if someone had been reading their thoughts, the three were stopped in there tacks by a figure appearing in front of them.
"You again!" Naruto shouted. The masked man stood before them, carrying what look to be an unconscious female form, Kira.
"I'm afraid I didn't come back to fight today.
I just need to return this." He said in his strangely high pitched voice.
"What did you do to her?!" Naruto shouted once again.
"Tobi just wanted to help his friend! Tobi could tell that something was bothering Kira, so he helped her!" Tobi laughed. "Would you like her back now?" He giggled again. Naruto created a shadow clone only to be stopped by Kakashi.
"He's not here to fight, don't provoke him."
Naruto growled but listened. Tobi giggled yet again.
"Here, I don't need her anymore." He dropped her. A split second before she hit the ground, Naruto saved the day again and caught her.
"Oh my. You've made a big mistake." Tobi said.
"What the hell are you talking about?!" Naruto said angrily.
"You really should have let her hit the ground." And with that, he was gone. This part was kinda long but I hope you enjoyed it anyway. Tell me, what do you think Kira and Obito's relationship is? I'm pretty sure the answer is going to surprise you.
