A/N) Wasn't Mark adorable when he was a kid!!!!

Bryce's Pov

Mark and I have been best friends since, well, forever. He's protected me, he's made me laugh, he's been there for me, and I've been there for him. I love Mark for who he is, he understands me, even if I can't talk. I usually carry a notebook and pencil, or I text, both work well. Of course i can talk though, I just don't do it often, and i only talk in front of Mark. Right now Mark and I are in high school, our senior year. He's 18 and I'm 17. Sometimes, when I'm alone, I like to think about the memories we've had together.

10 years ago.

Mark and I chased each other around the house, we we're playing tag. "Bryce! Mark! Dinner is ready!" Mark's step mom, Dee said. We both raced towards the kitchen. Smelling chicken and vegetables. We both sat at the table with Mark's brother and parents, giggling about a joke Mark said "Whats so funny Mark?" His father asked "I'M THE KING OF THE SQUIRRELS!!!!" He screamed, which cause everybody to laugh.

2 Years ago.

Mark's Dad had just died. We have just gotten back from the funeral. As we all got out of the car Mark loomed at me, with tears still in his eyes "Bryce, when we get inside, will...will you hold me?" I nodded. We both walked inside, took off our shoes and headed to Mark's room.

We both sat up on his bed, he rested his head on my shoulder. I put my arm around him and held him close. Mark started crying "Mark..." he lifted his head and hugged me, I hugged him back. I rubbed his back, trying to comfort him. He let go and looked at me "Bryce, I want to thank you for everything, you've brought me happiness and laughter in my life, and I couldn't ask for more, but I want to ask you one more thing... Bryce, w- will you be my girlfriend?" I nodded and hugged Mark tightly.

I let go of him and he kissed me passionately. He looked at me and smiled "I love you, Bryce. I love you...so much" We hugged once more and fell asleep.

Present Day.

I closed my locker after grabbing my stuff. Mark was standing next to me as usual. He smiled and kissed my cheek. We both walked to 7th hour which was History class. Mark and I had every class together, and we sat next to each other every class. Its not because we're couple, Mark is just a little over protective, which I don't mind of course, he's just trying to be a good boyfriend and best friend.

When we got to the class, we sat down next to each other. Mark held my hand under the desk. "Alright class, our lesson today is on the Industrial Revolution. Now what was the big thing going on in the North? Mark, do you know?" The teacher said "Uh Textile manufacturing"

"Very good, and do you know who brought the Industrial revolution?"

"Samuel Slater" he said. The teacher nodded and picked on another student. After that, the teacher made us take notes on an industrial revolution video.

After class, I walked to my locker and put my stuff away. I found Mark at his locker closing the door. When he turned around and noticed me, he grabbed my hand and kissed my knuckles. I giggled, as we walked to the entrance of the school. When we got to Mark's car he opened the door for me, I smiled at him and sat down. He came to the drivers side and sat down next to me. As he started the car he asked "Do you want to go stop by McDonald's and grab something?" I nodded. I wrote down what I wanted in my notebook "I want a chocolate shake with whip cream and a cherry" I showed Mark and he nodded.

We pulled into the drive-thru to McDonald's "Hello, welcome to McDonald's how may I take your order?" The worker said

"I'd like two chocolate shakes with whip cream and a cherry. That's all"

"Alright, that will be $2.60 please pull up to the first window"

Mark drove up to the first window pulling $2.60 out of his wallet. He gave it to the worker and pulled up one more window. The second worker then gave him the chocolate shakes and napkins. Mark handed the shake to me and we sped off to go home.
