His eyes locked on the beauty that was Calum Hood. He admired everything from his thick raven hair to his warm and welcoming smile. Everything about Calum was a masterpiece.

Luke knew where he stood in school. He knew that he had no business locking eyes with the popular jock that was Calum Hood. He knew he was making a fool of himself on that cold September day but he couldn't care less.

He was swimming in his chocolate brown eyes and he could feel the butterflies released in his stomach. Luke's heart was pounding in his chest at an settling pace. A hand was slammed down on his desk and Luke jumped into the air from the sudden noise,

"Hemmings you can make heart eyes at Hood after my class. Answer number 3 on the board since you think you don't have to work like the others." Her voice boomed and his breath caught in his throat and his cheeks tinted over with a blush coating. He wasn't flushed from being caught staring but for having to go up to the board.

He stumbled his way up and finished out the problem and turned to the woman making his life harder.

"Thank you, now go sit down." He passed Calum and thought he was in the clear but he was terribly wrong. Calum's friend stuck his foot out and caught Luke's foot. Before he could react the 6'4" boy laid on the ground next to Calum's table. His eyes filled with tears and he stumbled to his seat.

His friends laughed to the point one girl choked on her own breath. Calum shot them death glares with hard eyes. He looked at Luke and his persona softened.

"May I go to the restroom?" Luke called and the teacher sadly shook her head. She knew she was in the wrong but she wasn't going to admit it.

Luke ran out of the classroom and the tears were unstoppable. His breath was staggered and he crawled into a ball when he reached the bathroom. His lungs felt like they were on fire, causing his chest to burn.

Footsteps were heard but Luke ignored them. The sound stopped when they were right behind him.

"Luke?"

He knew that voice like the back of his hand. He dreamed of that voice saying his name but this wasn't how he imagined it happening.

Calum sat next to the sobbing boy and rubbed his back. Luke turned to Calum and looked into his eyes. "W-why?"

Calum had no words. There was no explanation for what happened. He had stupid 'friends' who only used him for popularity.

"I'm so sorry. There was no reason for that. Luke I promise that will never happen again." Calum was pleading with his eyes.

"How do I know it'll stop? This has happened before. Michael said he'd stop it but look where I am now." Luke mumbled and sniffled.

"This happened before? Luke, why didn't you tell me? I could've prevented this if you had told me." Calum ran his fingers through his hair and Luke felt frigid.

He felt Calum was putting him down and telling him just how much he screwed up.

"Calum, s-stop." Luke covered his tear stained face with his hands and tried to calm down before having a panic attack.

Calum stopped everything he was doing and actually took time to notice the beautiful blonde boy. He noticed how there was a growing puddle of tears on his shirt and he noticed how blue his eyes are.

Most importantly, he noticed Luke's self esteem. Calum always thought Luke was a strong, quiet and socially awkward boy not someone who he's seeing right now. Calum's heart shattered as he pulled Luke into his chest.

"I'm here Luke, it'll all be okay." Calum whispered in his ear and Luke caught his breath.

"You say that but in reality you'll go back to your friends and forget this even happened. It's happened to me too many times before." Calum sighed and forced Luke to look at his face.

"Luke, I promise that I'll be here. I promise that I'll do whatever I can to make them not touch you anymore. When I make promises I don't break them." Luke smiled as his cheeks were glazed over with a red tint. "I just want to see you happy."

Luke's heart felt like it was going to combust at Calum's words. His crush of five years told him he wanted to see Luke happy. Luke only felt happiness around Calum. Luke shook his head and crawled away from Calum.

"I'm not happy, Calum that's the problem."

"What makes you happy then?" Luke hesitated before answering. He didn't want to just let it slip out and have Calum reject him but he didn't want him to get away.

"You."

Calum froze. All the air was sucked out of his body. The atmosphere was toxic and uneasy. Yet just like that, Calum grabbed the younger boy by his waist. He pulled him as close to him as possible and wrapped his arms around him securely.

"Luke, you have no idea how long I've been waiting for this moment." Luke felt Calum's hot breath on his neck and shivered from the feeling. Calum ran his fingers up and down Luke's back as Luke's hands found the chocolate brown hair.

"I'm going to kiss you Hemmings, okay?" Luke smiled and nodded eagerly.

Calum looked into blue eyes and gave him a reassuring nod. Calum's plump lips made contact with Luke's and both boys grinned.

The two didn't realise how much they'd both been dreaming of this happening. They didn't know that the other was secretly praying that this would occur.

Their lips disconnected and Luke rested his forehead on Calum's. "I really like you, Calum."

Calum giggled and pecked his lips. "I really like you, Lucas."

"That's not my fuckïng name."

"Easy babe, I'm only playing." Calum defended himself quickly.

"Good."

And with that last word said, they both knew they found their happiness.
