A young boy enters the empty arcade
He has never played a game
And this place was full of games
He was very much enticed by the lights that shone bright upon the screens
He had many dollar bills, needless to say more than enough means
Yet he had only one token
He'd planned to make the most of all his cash
"Which one first," he thought
"Mega-man or diner dash?"
He runs to the first machine
That catches his attention
He played that game
And he completed the mission
But was puzzled at the outcome
When he received no tickets
Hurt and betrayed, he chose to forgive it
He got another dollar
And tried to forget it.Hour after hour
Game after game
Dollar after dollar
His dismay still remained
Mad now thinking "Forget these games, I blew all my chances and I got played!"
On his way out, one game caught his eye
The shiniest of them all, and on it a blue sign
"Guaranteed winner, I can promise that. But once you put in a token, no take backs!"The boy thought about all the losses he'd taken
Fished out his token, his pride had grown brazen
He thought "I can't lose again, I can't take it"
He jerked the joystick so hard
He thought he'd break it
When he'd beat the game
Two tickets came out and the screen went black
He'd gotten what he'd wanted
So then why'd he feel so bad? Then suddenly wires shot from everywhere and attached to his frame
His legs, his wrists, then ultimately his brain
The screen shone yellow now and the through his bloody wreckage
He squinted hard and read the Devils message
"You gave your last token, hope you got number 1, now it's our turn to have the fun"
He let out a shriek but no one could hear him
His voice was silenced when he saw his reflection in the mirror
He'd seen himself morphing and transforming into an arcade game
What a terrible fate, becoming robotic and mechanic
Just like all of those games he had played.A young boy enters an empty arcade
