Danny's world was black, he turned around in a circle as he tried to find some sort of way to see where he was, and squinted when he saw a faint light in the distance. It grew even fainter, so he started to try and run toward it but the more he ran the further it became, so he decided to transform and fly toward it. He summoned the transformation, but nothing happened. He closed his eyes and tried once again, but there was still no bright light forming around him. "What's wrong?" He mumbled to himself, and started to search for his ice core.

Nothing was there.

"How could it just be gone?" He exclaimed, frustrated and worried as he opened his eyes and looked up to find the light ahead had gone out as well. Danny felt himself suddenly tilting to the right, then tumbling through open air until he landed on his back on a soft patch of grass. He sat up and looked around him, noticing that he was sitting in the park in the middle of Amity Park. The sky was a brilliant blue, and there wasn't a single cloud in sight.

"Want a soda, Danny?" He turned to his right to see Sam sitting next to him and handing him a soda.

"How did I get here?" He asked, confused. The last thing he remembered was he was at home and Vlad was carrying him to the sofa.

"You mean you don't remember?" She quirked an eyebrow and put the soda down. "You started going on about ghosts. Are you feeling okay?" She furrowed her eyebrows.

"Yeah, I feel fine... but I can't find my powers." She nodded.

"Stay right here, I'll go get your 'powers'." She said gently as she stood, then quickly ran off. He stood up, confused as to what she meant, then suddenly felt himself falling again. This time he landed on a different kind of soft surface, and everything was black again. He felt a strange cold and then numbness run through his body and couldn't prevent himself from closing his eyes again.

Vlad gently shook Danny, having spent over two hours cooling him down. "Daniel, wake up. You're cool again, and I think the reaction is over with." He said, worried, but sighed in relief as Danny's eyes slowly opened. "Finally. How do you feel?"

Danny groaned and sat up, rubbing his temples. "What happened?" He asked after a moment, eyes still closed.

"You passed out, you were running a fever." Vlad explained, sitting back next to the couch. "You were unconscious for over two hours." He said, worry evident in his voice.

"I feel fine..." Danny said, searching for his ice core out of habit. It was still there, cold and bright as usual. "And I can still go ghost." He sighed in relief. Vlad nodded and stood.

"You should drink some water." He said, handing him a cup. Danny looked up at him and suddenly saw a flash of Sam sitting next to him in the park, holding a soda out to him. He gasped and jolted back, surprised.

"What is it?" Vlad asked, alarmed and putting a hand on his shoulder.

"I don't think the negative reaction is over just yet..."
