"Yeah sure." I say.

" So it's been... four days since I met you, and since that day I've been getting this vibe that you are hiding something from me... so I want to know if that's true Hazel." He says, very seriously.

So he figured.Well it was easy as I've been acting so cold and distant with everyone.

"Well....I'm not hiding anything... it's just that something happend a while ago and as no one here really knows me so they don't know about it....so like...." I manage to say with many breaks before he says:

" What happened? And why don't people know you? You've been here long so like... you must've made SOME friends.."  I see his expression changing into a mixture of worry and curiousity.

" Well... first of, I've not been here long. I joined almost one year ago so.... And about the thing.... well it's one helluva story so meet me at the parking lot, near my car. We'll talk about it over coffee.

AUSTIN'S POV
The rest of the day gets dragged on while I get more and more curious by the second. What could possibly have happend with her that she's acting this way? Or is it that maybe she's like this, cold and distant, since the beginning?
Finally, the bell for the end of school rings and I find myself hurrying out of English class. I then reach the parking lot and spot Hazel's car. She's standing by it as I walk over to her.

   HAZEL's POV

I see Austin walking towards me in a slightly faster pace than usual. I can see the worried and curious expression on his face.
I can't lie to him and neither do I want to.
I think to myself.
Since lunchtime I've been preparing myself to not have an emotional breakdown in the middle of telling him the truth. It has been so hard letting in someone this close and telling them about Augustus that just the thought of it terrifies the life out of me.
But something tells me I can trust Austin, that maybe he'll understand what I'm feeling and not just pity me like all the others do. I believe I'm ready to tell him, let him in to the most important and drastic part of my life.

He arrived and stands right in front of me.
"Hey", he says in a low tone, peering into my eyes looking for answers but also sending a soothing, trustworthy vibe.

"Hey", I give a faint smile. "Hop in", I say and got in the car.

"So.." he said.
" So it all began 2 years and 10 months ago.."
