You always had a hard time making friends at school. You were the weird kid who was on the chubbier side of the weight spectrum.
Sure you had some friends but you were the odd one out since you were a year younger than them and therefore set in a different class. They didn't know you were bullied and even if they did you doubted they would actually do anything.
You sat in your desk on the far side of the room close to the back, you doodled on your notebook waiting for class to start.
"Class, we have a new student, Moon Bin, would you please make him feel welcome." The class chorused in a 'hello', "Your desk is behind Y/N. Y/N will you raise your hand." You raised your hand without looking up.
"Ugh. Why does that unlucky lard get to sit near the cute new boy?!"
"I wonder if he'll even be able to see the teacher and the board from behind her elephant frame."
You shrunk at their words.
"I'm Moon Bin." A voice said behind you. You casually looked over your shoulder.
"Y/N." You said softly as you caught a glimpse of the handsome boy. He flashed you a friendly smile. You attempted to smile but quickly returned to your doodling. Class started and you followed along fairly well.
Your first break came and you got up to take a walk.
"Y/N!" A voice called as you were exiting the room. You turned to see Moon Bin.
"Mind showing me around?" He asked, you could feel the cold glares coming from the other girls in your class.
"Not at all." You smiled.
The two of you walked around getting to know each other better as you showed him where everything is.
You were getting a drink of water from the drinking fountain waiting for Moon Bin since he had to use the restroom.
"Y/N" The sickly sweet voice of your worst tormentor rang through your ears. You turned around to be faced with menacing glare of Kim Ae Ra.
"H-hi Ae Ra." You said softly.
"Stay away from him." She said vaguely.
"From who?" You asked,
"You know who Lard Ass." She said.
"No I don't." You said knowing exactly who she meant.
"So you're dumb too? Aish. Just stay away or things will get ten times worse than they already are, Lardy. Got it?" She snapped. You swallowed and nodded. She rolled her eyes and stomped away.
"What was that about?" Moon Bin asked suddenly by your side causing you to jump a little.
"Oh nothing. She was just joking around." You said quickly then began walking back to the classroom. Moon Bin quietly followed suit.
Class went on and you diligently took notes, every once in a while Moon Bin would lean forward and ask a question or say something that would make you laugh softly.
Lunch rolled around and everyone brought out their lunches. The teacher left, that's what made you hate lunch it was like open season on you. Ae Ra sauntered her way over to you.
"What do you have for lunch today Lardy-I mean Y/N." She snickered and so did the rest of the class.
"Just rice and chicken." You mumbled.
"No veggies? Mainly carbs. No wonder you keep blowing up like a balloon." She cackled.
"Stop it." Moon Bin suddenly said.
"Excuse me?" Ae Ra said confused.
"I said, stop it." He said standing up.
"Why are you standing up for this piece of lard?" Ae Ra asked
"Because Y/N is my friend. Do you have a problem with that?" he snapped. Ae Ra shrunk back to her seat. "And if any of you ever try to say or do hurtful towards Y/N, you'll have to deal with me." He said then sat down.
"Are you okay?" He asked you softly as the rest of the class resumed their own conversations.
"Yes... Thank you." You said quietly.
"No problem at all." He said.
The bullying stopped from that day forward. You and Moon Bin became the best of friends.
