Thank God, it's Saturday. I don't need to deal with any bullshit from Hiraeth or my professors. I have a full day for me, myself and I.

I decided to go to the mall and have a walk. Yeah sure I can have a movie marathon by myself but nah, not in the mood. I'd rather prefer walking and shopping.

When I have parked my car in the lot, I immediately got out and went inside the mall.

"One Grande Caramel Frappe and Honey Glazed Doughnuts. Take out," I ordered when I decided to buy at Starbucks.

I walked toward an empty seat and sat down. After a few minutes of scrolling, I finally heard the barista call out my name with my order. I went to the counter and got my food then went out.

I really don't like eating in a two-seater table while not having anyone to eat with me. I don't want to hinder a couple or people in sitting down there just because one person is eating. I hate when I feel guilty. Tsk.

But I really don't mind though and besides, I like walking.

I was munching away when I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket. I let out a small groan and went to a nearby bench to sit down and place my drink and food down.

Bitch, I'm home.

Who the fuck?

To: Unregistered Number
I'm sorry but you might have gotten the wrong number.

From: Unregistered Number
Bitch, it's me, Kallisa.

My eyes went round when I read the text. She's home! Finally someone I know.

To: Kalli
Bitch, where the fuck are you?

From: Kalli
Haha. I'm at my house where you are staying. It's been only two months since you asked for it and you forget? Wow. I'm hurt.

What a drama queen, this girl, really.

To: Kalli
Fine, fine. I'll be going home now.

From: Kalli
Where the fuck are you?

To: Kalli
Mall. I'll be driving. Don't text back. Wait for me.

I immediately got up and went straight to the lot, bringing with me my food because I've been thought not to waste grace. I'll just eat and drive. Bitch, I can do both.

"So the bitch's home," I was greeted by a very high-pitched voice when I got inside the house.

"More like, you're the bitch who's home. How's 5 months in Europe?" I asked as I gave her a hug.

God, even if she's annoying, I missed her so much.

"It was fine. Bloody fantastic actually," she smirked.

I rolled my eyes. I know what "bloody" means in London. Tsk.

"But what made you move back here? I thought you'll be staying there for a year?"

"Well, I decided I wanted to be with my best friend and finish my last year in college. Basically, I dropped traveling because of you,"

"Aww, I kew you loved me that much," I said naughtily.

"Shut the fuck up, bitch," she said but broke into laughter later.

"So how's your stay here?"

"It's been fine, although my stay at school was horrible because of a terrible dickheaded jerk who did nothing but annoy me this past week. God, he's impossible,"

There was silence before Kalli said a thing again.

"Let me guess, it's Hiraeth,"

I creased my forehead, "How'd you know?"

"I lived here bitch. I also went to the same college you're going. To tell you the truth, I was buddies with the dickhead,"

"What the actual fuck?"

"I know but whatever, something happened so our friendhip kinda tore apart. Don't dare ask but yeah,"

I waited for the information to sink in before cussing again. Jesus, I can't imagine her being buddies with Hiraeth. It's very, unlikely.

I heard her stomach grumble and after muttering a cuss, she went to the fridge and rummaged through its content. She got a small box of chocolate cake a guy from school gave me and as I said, I don't waste graces.

She finished it in a hurry like she hadn't eaten for a year. But I don't blame her, I'm also like that when I'm starving.

"Let's go eat," I was startled when I heard Kalli's voice.

We were in the university to settle her accounts so she could enroll. She was an old student so the process was easy and she was the only one signing up on this day so it was quick. She'll be going back on Monday.

I was digging in my steak when her phone vibrated.

"Jesus fuck,"

I drank water before asking her what was wrong. She held out her phone which I accepted and read what was appearing on the screen.

There were two pictures; the first was when she landed in the airport and the second was when we were inside the school. The caption below said: "News Flash: Kallisa Connor is back in California and will be returning to school." Below the post, there were many comments like, "Oh my God, the queen is back," "Shuxx yay, college will be fun," and a lot more positive things.

Okay, I see no problem with this one but by the looks of Kalli, it's a big deal.

"And?" I asked.

"It was supposed to be a secret. Ugh. God damn these gossipers. The walls really have ears,"

It was in my knowledge that Kalli was popular and respected in school. She held quite the repute and then I remembered she was friends with the douchebag. The thought made me groan but whatever.

"You're upset because of this?"

"Yes."

"Petty."

The rest of the night was a blur. After we ate dinner, Kalli and I went home to rest. But of course we did a lot more catching up with each other because as far as I remember, I last talked with her was a month ago and that was only through phone.

I really do miss her for she was the only true friend I have. After we said our goodnights, we went off to each other's room and slept.
