- Months Later -
Brie's POV
This is it, today's the day. Today I leave behind the hallways, the lockers, the memories and the people that belong to this shit hole. Sorry for cutting the emotional look back scene but let's be serious I only went there to graduate- and Kris and Zulie of course. These last few months have been absolute hell- the exams, the constant nag of university acceptances, the atmosphere of reminisce, and overall the constant harassment from girls I never talked to just because I was dating the boy of my dreams.I stood in front of the wall mirror in my room. I can admit- I clean up nice. My mum had bought a beautiful, off the shoulder burgundy dress and heels to match. I curled my hair and had it side pinned. The only thing left to do was to put on my cap and gown- once we get to the hall of course. I let out a shaky sigh I didn't know I was holding in. This is it, everything I've done, everything I've been through has brought me to this moment. I'm done, it's kind of bittersweet. Even though Ridgeford was as close to hell as you could get without dying, I was going to miss it. My thoughts were interrupted by a knock at my bedroom door.
"Look at my little girl. The only one I'll ever have in my life. She's all grown up." My dad says, almost crying. "Oh, dad." I exhale, walking over and cuddling into him. In the past weeks, Dad had made it known that he was sad I was completing school. To him, it was the end of an era so to say. I was no longer a child anymore, I was starting to be an adult. It scared him and it scared me. "I'll always love you Gab, always." I held onto him a bit tighter and smiled. "I know, it's not like I'm leaving forever daddy. Of course, I'll be in London with Haz but, I'll visit a lot and talk to you on the phone." Dad let go and just smiled at me, nodding.
"Speaking of Harry, he said that he had some things to do before the ceremony so he'll meet your mom and I in the hall. He said he's sorry he can't see you before." He explains, furrowing his brows, waiting for my response. "It's um, It's alright. He'll still be there regardless." I say, turning around and flattening my skirt in the mirror, trying to forget about the fact that Harry ditched his plans from two days ago.
"Well, let's get going, miss. We'll be in the audience alright?" He said, pressing a tender kiss to my temple. I nod and walk downstairs, avoiding my mom- not wanting to take thousands of pictures, and getting into my car to pick up the girls.
"Well hello to the lovely ladies of the graduating class of 2014," I exclaimed, pulling into Zulie's driveway. They both just smiled, hopping into the car ready to get out of Ridgeford. "God, I'm going to miss you Gabriele," Kris sighs as we're driving to school's stadium. "You act as though the two of you won't be at Ni and Zayn's places every day," I laughed, pulling into the parking lot.
The three of us started walking towards the stadium, meeting a hoard of girls. We figured who it could be, even before we heard their shouting. It was the boys, so we pushed our way through the crowd, not really caring who we were being rude towards. "Hey boys," we all said, smiling up at them. "Girls! Congratulations, we're super proud of you lot," they all yelled, pulling us into a hug. I looked around, noticing it was only four of them. "Where's Haz," I asked, with a pout on my face. "Oh, he's um.., he's running a bit late, love," Liam said, looking at me with pity and rubbing up and down my back. "Okay," I sighed, "well tell him I'll see him later when you see him. We have to get going," I replied, monotonously, grabbing the girls with me.
"Gabriele Thomas Magna Cum Laude," my name was finally called to get my diploma. I took a deep breath and started walking to the stage, hoping that I didn't fall. I looked over to where my parents were sitting and smiled, seeing my mum and dad crying made me realize that all my fighting was worth it. I look slightly to my dad's left to see my dork of a boyfriend, grinning widely and recording me. Great, now I really can't fall. I finally reached the stage, meeting my teachers and Head Master for the past four years in order to get my diploma. "Congratulations Gabriele," my Head Master whispers to me. I smile, being solely happy that I was finally out of here.
