"Welcome, Scarlet family and thank you for coming." The King greets.

"No, no," My father smiles. "Thank you for having us and using our services."

"Well, I heard that your business was the best." The King saya, stroking his beard as his eyes drifting down to the sheathed sword that was currently being tightly gripped by my father. "So, let's get to it, shall we?"

"Dear, we haven't even introduced ourselves. That's quite rude." The Queen says.

Wow, her voice is so soft and elegant.

"Ah, my mistake. I was in such a hurry. I do apologize." The King nods. "I am Jeffrey Fernandes, this is my wife Danielle, and my son Jellal."

"Nice to meet you all." The Queen smiles.

"It's a pleasure to meet you." Jellal says politely.

"Same to you, Your Majesties." My dad bows slightly. "My name is Richard Scarlet, this is my wife Suki, and my daughter Erza."

"Excellent!" The King beems. "Now, let's take a look at that sword!"

"O-Of course, Your Majesty." My dad stutters. He holds out the sheathed sword and then slowly draws the sword out.

The King watches closely as my dad draws the sword.

What are they planning?

None of this makes any sense to me.

Why on Earth would the royal family seek business with a commoner's shop?

That's not the way things work.

This isn't some kind of fairy tale. This is real life.

Royalty and commoners don't mix. We simply aren't of the same social class as the Fernandes'.And as much as I hate it, that's just the way real life is.

There is never truly peace in this world.

"Magnificent!" The King's gasp brings me out of my thoughts. My eyes drift over to see the King staring at my dad's sword as if it were the most beautiful thing he's ever saw. "A wonderful piece of art, this is."

"Why, thank you, sir." My dad bows.

"There is just one more thing." The King says, sounding serious.

"W-What is it, Your Majesty?"

"I wish to see how it fairs in battle." The King hums. "Frederick!" He calls.

Not a second passes before the butler opens the door and bows, "Yes, Your Highness?"

"Take this sword and set up a duel between two of my soldiers."

"Yes, sir."

After nodding, Frederick takes the sword from my father, sheathes it, and then leaves the room.

A duel? Like a fight to the death? Is that really necessary?

Hopefully, this isn't an actual duel.

"Alright Scarlet family, follow us." The King grins, chuckling.

My goodness, his laugh is just as deep as his voice.

The King walks down the hallway and we follow behind him and his family. He takes us outside to a garden with a circular clearing.

Standing there waiting are two well-built, muscled men and Frederick.

"Ah, Laxus and Orga. Good choice, Frederick." The King smiles in approval.

I look over to the two men called Laxus and Orga. The sword that my dad made is in the blond's hands.

I bit my lip as I remember that this is a duel.

Are there such things as friendly duels?

"Alright you two," The King announces, "same as always, the first one down wins." He crosses his arms over his chest. "Begin!"

Once the King says this, the two men draw their swords and charge towards each other.

The sound of swords clashing is heard in the area and you could actually see both men's veins appear on their biceps as they tried to hold their own against each other.

The blond (with our sword) summons all of his strength and slices his opponent.

However, the gren haired man shielded himself by using his sword in a defensive stance. He then positions himself to attack, but the sword he is holding breaks in two.

Looking astonished, the green haired soldier's jaw drops as well as the blond's.

Frederick raises his eyebrows.

The royal family's eyes widened in surprise.

"Amazing!" The King grins. "Absolutely, truly, amazing!" He turns towards my family with a larger grin on his face. "I've decided!"

"What would that be, Your Majesty?" My dad asks, licking his lips in nervousness.

"Your work is truly one of a kind, Richard." The King praises and my dad smirks. "I would be happy if you would make more swords for me."

"Oh, that's no problem, Your Majesty."

"Really?" The King stares at my father, surprised by his response. "Then please, I would like for you and your family to move into the Fernandes Estate and I shall hire you to work as my royal swordmaker."
