Chapter 3

"Ladybug! Cat Noir! Can I get an interview?" Alya asked as she and Nino ran up to them.

"Of course! Anything!" Ladybug smiled as she turned to Cat Noir, and he nodded.

"So, since this is your one year anniversary of fighting crime in Paris, can you reveal your identities?" Alya asked, and Ladybug and Cat Noir gulped, looking at each other.

"Or why aren't you two dating? You two are totally the best couple." Nino added.

"Oh please. We all know that Cat Noir would make an adorable couple with me." Chloe walked up to the group.

"What?!" Ladybug and Cat Noir gasped.

"Of course. Ladybug, you're my bestie, so you'd understand, right? We do look adorable, no?" Chloe linked arms with Cat Noir, who immediately yanked his arm back and stood next to Ladybug.

"Sorry, ladies. I'm taken." Cat Noir smiled down at Ladybug, who unintentionally let out a sigh of relief.

"Wait wait wait, does that mean you two are actually a thing?!" Alya gasped.

"What?! No, no, no... I just don't want him dating a snob like Chloe." Ladybug gestured to Chloe.

"WHAT?! You called me a SNOB?!" Chloe growled angrily.

"What?! Of course not..." Ladybug chuckled nervously.

"Ladybug, what is going on?" Mayor Bourgeois asked.

"Monsieur Mayor, everything is okay over here." Ladybug reassured him.

"Daddy!! Ladybug called me a snob!!" Chloe screamed.

"Ladybug is a superhero. She would never do that." Mayor Bourgeois chuckled.

"Ladybug, what's wrong with Chloe?" Cat Noir asked.

"It's...nothing. She's perfectly fine." Ladybug crossed her arms and Cat Noir just stared at her, "okay, look, Little Kitty, can we please have a word..." Ladybug grabbed Cat Noir's wrist, threw her magic yoyo at the top of the Eiffel Tower again, and they flew up onto the spectator level.

"What's the deal?!" Cat Noir crossed his arms.

"Okay...I'm not going to tell you my identity, but Chloe is a complete jerk. She goes to my school, and she just steams the anger in this little red bug..." Ladybug paced back and forth.

"Really? She's in my class too!" Cat Noir chuckled. Ladybug stopped in her tracks and stared out at nothingness.

"You...go to the same school as me?"

"I guess so." Cat Noir shrugged as he and Ladybug walked up to the rails of the spectators' level. There were more fireworks, there were red flashing lights below, and the Paris lights were illuminating the night sky as the Eiffel Tower lit up.

"It really is beautiful..." Ladybug smiled.

"You're beautiful..." Cat Noir smirked.

"You say that every day." Ladybug laughed.

"I'm persistent...and determined." Cat Noir answered, his hands on his hips.

"You overdo it sometimes. You know that, right?" Ladybug asked, standing to face him.

"Yes. Yes I do know that." Cat Noir answered as he turned to face her. He took her hands into his, "and I do it all for you."

Ladybug looked up into his green eyes...those green eyes that just seemed so very familiar, but she couldn't exactly tell who it was...Someone from her school... Cat Noir smirked as they both started leaning in. Before their lips could meet, however, screams echoed from below. They both immediately threw themselves down and landed before the crowd.

"What's happening?!" Ladybug asked.

"Ladybug!!" People started screaming her name. She and Cat Noir looked around at where the screams were coming from. They saw their friends surrounded by purple magic.

"Alya!" Ladybug shouted and ran up to her friend, who was surrounded by purple as well.

"Nino!" Cat Noir called out to his friend, who, too, was surrounded by purple.

"What the heck is happening?" Nino shouted in confusion.

"Gah!! Ivan!" Ladybug and Cat Noir turned and saw Mylene and Ivan surrounded by purple.

"It's okay, Mylene! Everything's going to be okay!" Ivan reassured her.

"What the..." Ladybug then turned to everyone else. She noticed that Kim, Max, Juleka, Alix, Rose, and Nathan were surrounded by purple too.

"Is this just kids from our class?" Cat Noir asked.

"DADDY!!!!" Chloe cried as she and Sabrina were surrounded by purple.

"My baby!" Mayor Bourgeois shouted, "Ladybug do something!"

"I don't know if there's anything we can do!" Ladybug shrugged. She turned and even saw Manon was surrounded by purple.

"Oh no...I think I see what's happeni--"

"Ladybug and Cat Noir!" A deep voice boomed in the air. Ladybug and Cat Noir looked up at the Eiffel Tower. There, surrounded by a large group of Akumatized butterflies, was Hawk Moth himself, "after tonight, your Miraculouses will be MINE!"

"Oh please..." Cat Noir rolled his eyes, "Notice it has been a year, and you still don't have them!"

"Oh but this time, I will. Because this is the ultimatum! This is the end, and I will get them this time! Guaranteed!" Hawk Moth announced, "Akumatize them! NOW!"

Suddenly, everyone that was glowing purple were engulfed by the purple, and after a few seconds, the purple faded away, and in their place was their Akumatized alter egos.

"Oh no..." Ladybug gasped as she and Cat Noir turned around and gaped. Where Alya and Nino stood was now Lady Wifi and The Bubbler. They also saw the Evillustrator, Horrificator, Stone Heart, Timebreaker, Gamer, Puppeteer, Dark Cupid, Reflekta, Princess Fragrance, The Invisible One, RogerCop, and Antibug.

"Give us your Miraculouses!" They all chorused.

"Never." Ladybug answered as she and Cat Noir stood their ground and got ready to fight. Suddenly, they saw storm clouds starting to form above them. They turned around and saw Stormy Weather, then followed by Pharaoh, Mr. Pigeon, Simonsayz, Darkblade, Pixelator, The Mime, Copycat, and Volpina.

"Those Miraculouses are ours!" Stormy Weather yelled.

"And if you don't hand them over, then we'll have to take them by force!" Volpina added.

"Then you'll have to fight us for it!" Ladybug answered.

"No way you're getting them that easily!" Cat Noir said.

"Fine...works for me." Hawk Moth said, smirking. Then he snapped his fingers, and all the villains began moving, surrounding them. Ladybug and Cat Noir stood back to back with their arms up and ready to fight.

"Got a plan?" Cat Noir whispered. Ladybug looked at him in worry, then turned around to scan the rest of the villains,

"I don't know... This time, Hawk Moth might have trumped us..."
