Tyler Johnson (Tampa Bay Lightning)

I was sitting at the cafe in Tampa on my Mac Book when suddenly, someone pulled out a chair and sat down at my table. I shut the screen slightly to be greeted by those easily recognizable brown eyes.

"(Y/N)?!" Tyler smiled as his eyes got wider.

I lifted back up the computer screen and continued to type my school essay.

Tyler shut my screen a little bit more until I snapped,"You left me!"

He frowned,"I didn't mean to. We need to talk about it."

"Talk about what?!" I spat, remembering that night.

•Flashback 7 months earlier•

"Why does life hate me?" I sobbed on the end of Tyler's bed.

He cradled my head in his lap. We had been friends for 8 years and I began to come out to Tyler about my abusive boyfriend of 1 year.

"Why didn't you tell me?!" Tyler asked as he wiped my tear filled eyes.

Tyler seemed very angry which made me feel scared. He began to remind me of my boyfriend, I guess ex now, Ryan.

"Get away from me!" I screamed and sobbed as I saw Tyler's gorgeous face begin to turn to Ryan's hateful and dangerous face.

"I'm not gonna hurt you (Y/N/N)," Tyler cooed as he began to brush his fingers through my hair softly.

I started to have heavy breathing as I remembered everything. The bottle meeting my head, the knife meeting my wrist, his fist meeting my eye. I looked up to Tyler who just smiled down at me, frustration still in his eyes.

"I always thought that you were safe and protected from all the bad in life by me," Tyler frowned.

I cried softer now.

"You couldn't protect me from him," I frowned and shook my head as I lifted my head off of his lap.

Tyler slammed his fists on the bed and jolted up.

"Tyler?" I asked as I ran towards the door.

Tyler just shook his head and slammed the door, leaving me alone in his house. I sobbed for hours, waiting for him to come back to me. In a time of need my best friend wasn't here.

"Tyler?"

•End of Flashback•

"I couldn't stand what Ryan did to you," Tyler growled, still frustrated.

"So you thought it was okay to cause me more pain?!" I yelled, slamming my laptop closed and stuffing it in my bag.

"(Y/N). That's not what I meant," Tyler sighed as he cupped his face in his hands.

"Tyler, I'm done," I snapped,"And if that didn't answer your question, stay away from me forever."

"(Y/N)!" He yelled, grabbing my hand tight.

He flipped over my arm and ran his fingers over the light pink/white knife cuts in my wrist. I tried to pull my hand away but he just gripped it tighter.

"Listen!" Tyler growled, causing me to jump in fear,"These last 11 months have been the worst months of my life. No communication with you, you moved into a new apartment, everything. I left you, as weird as this sounds, for a reason. And that reason i-is that I like you. I love you! Ever since we met, I haven't been able to get your sparkling (E/C) eyes off of my mind. Your long, gorgeous (H/C) hair off my mind. Your curvaceous body fit for a model. Your bright smile that looks crafted by a god. God, (Y/N), I just can't get you out of my head!"

By now I was completely stumped and crying slightly. I'd always liked him but was too worried to say anything.

"Don't cry more," Tyler wiped the flowing tears from my eyes,"I knew I shouldn't have approached you."

"Yes you should have," I smiled as I embraced him tightly,"Besides, you never would have known that I feel the same way about you."

He pulled away and looked into my eyes. His eyes started to water and he kissed me softly on the lips. There we were, two best friends, kissing outside of a cafe.

"God, why'd I wait so long to do that?" He asked causing me to blush.

"It was only 8 almost 9 years," I laughed as I zipped up my bookbag and put it around my shoulders.

"Well it was certainly worth the wait," he smiled as he pecked my lips and wrapped his arm around my waist, leading me throughout the busy streets of Tampa.

What?! Two updates in one day? That's called procrastination! Haha no but really I wanted to have some starting for this book.
