I never thought
I'd say the words
any one else but you.
Now saying them
once again
after watching
all I ever loved
fall apart
is a weird kind of sensation.
Like learning a new language for the first time
speaking words that don't make sense
because they apply to two different universes
paralleled together.
Because suddenly,
you are one of the people you read about.
One with a past
a love that's gone and one that's better.
And realizing
one day at a time
your mistakes
can be rewritten.
Put down your pencil
and pick up your pen
cause this ones permanent this time.
This time I'll write our story
in pen so you cant erase it.
The many hours spent,
waiting.
Waiting for you to come
and you never came.
Because as I was writing our story
you were behind me
silently erasing every word I wrote.
Whether you realized it or not.
