The Hall Way

I open my eyes to a hall way. The walls are black, a deep and voided black. The crimson splattered walls stretched on for what seems like eternity. If there is anything to be certain of, it is that no one is ever meant to leave this place. I look directly ahead of me and there I see... me.

No, not me. That is not me. 'It' can not be me. It stares at me with black soulless eyes of the abyss. Unblinking, jagged circles. Its mouth hanging open, pointed teeth tipped in crimson, lining that inhuman jaw. A whip like tongue forking around Its fangs. Even though this Thing was hunched over, It gave off a deeply unsettling presence, Its shadow reached all the way to me as the walls' crimson hue gave off an unsettling light. As the crimson hue reflected off of Its leathery skin, I saw that It was scarred and burned, a small shine hinting that some of Its grotesque wounds were still bleeding. That is, if that dark liquid even was blood. Arms hanging past Its bent knees with long, jagged claws as black as night, dripping with blood. This... Thing truly is some ungodly manifestation of darkness.

It releases an inhuman screech, like the sound of nails on a chalk board, Its jaw opening wider as if unhinged like a snake's. I cover my ears attempting to block out this haunting shriek. It's too much... it's just too much. I slam my eyes shut in a vain attempt to shut out what's happening to me. To find reprieve from this howl. That's when I hear it. It has started charging, still shrieking, I hear Its clawed feet scratching and hitting the ground as It rushes me. The thumping much louder than Its size would make you expect. I weep, softly, waiting.

It stops. It stops running, screaming. It went quiet. I slowly open my eyes. It is less than an inch away, Its face in mine. From this close I can smell Its acrid breath. Its bloodied and blackened skin looks as though it is moving... alive. I stare into Its eyes. The abyss, It stares back. I feel myself becoming lost in those hungry, soulless eyes. I don't as much see, as I feel, what is in those eyes... a darkness strong enough to cover the sun's light. I reach out with my hand in curiosity to touch Its face. It tilts Its head slightly at my hand's approach. That's when it happened.

That wretched shriek... why, why won't it stop. And then It attacked. Its unhinged jaw clamping down onto my shoulder, Its jagged claws ripping into my chest. Why won't it end, how am I still alive. I scream out in horror and pain as It opens my chest and crawls insi...

I am just like you, I am you.. don't you see? We fit perfectly. Can you still hear me?.. Hello?..
