It was a dark and stormy morning, but it didn't phase Genevieve. She was running later than usual and ran outside into the pouring rain to her car. She forgot her rain coat, her umbrella, and her engagement ring. She thought about how Andrew and her use to play outside in the rain, dancing to the sound of the downpour. Her mascara was running and she was soaked sitting in her car as she began to weep. Andrew was announced M.I.A about two months ago; Gen was told there was little probability that Andrew would come back. Today was the day set for the wedding and Genevieve swore that she would be perfectly fine today but she couldn't help to cry. She called in sick to work, as her coworkers predicted. She reclined the seat and fell asleep crying.
The sound of tapping caught her ear. She looked out her car window but saw nobody. She looked in the mirror and saw what she was afraid to admit. She saw a woman who was broken. Her mascara covered her face and her hair was horrible. It wasn't raining anymore so she got out of her car to go lay in her bed. She started to walk to her door when she heard him speak.
"Rough night?"
Shocked, she slowly turned around to see him standing there in his army uniform and a bouquet of red roses.
"Hey Gen." Andrew said grinning. She ran to him, and jumped into his arms, wrapping her legs around him. She began to cry, but this time, she was truly happy. A feeling she hadn't felt in months.
"I love you, beautiful." He whispered.
That is when she woke up, still laying in her car alone. She immediately began to sob.
"I miss you." She whispered. "I miss you, Andrew!" She yelled, sobbing. She was alone and she just wanted to ride around. She couldn't stand being still anymore. She put her car in gear and began to pull out of her drive way. With the tears in her eyes, she couldn't see the 18- wheeler coming down the road. She died instantly. But they were finally together, and she was fine with that.
