Twisted Ending

Something shines bright in his eyes as a child. He cared too deeply for everyone and everything. His sympathies were vast. His cares soon fell upon a young woman. To everyone else she was nothing special, average height, average weigh, average hair, and overall just mediocre. But they didn't see her determination, they didn't see the fire in her eyes that burned brightly from her soul. They never saw the tears she cried behind closed doors. He saw her. He saw her determination, he saw her fire and he knew of her tears. He knew she could never be mediocre. He cared so deeply for her. So much more deep than he had for anything else. And that is why his soul was crushed when he learned that she wasn't happy. She wasn't happy with herself, she wasn't happy with her accomplishments, and to her, she was less than mediocre in every way possible. She weighed too much, she wasn't the right height, she could never be as pretty as everyone else. She never felt she worked hard enough and she felt that she lost every battle that she fought. She was her own biggest critic. He, too, knew the feeling of being below average. He, too, wished for greatness. And that's why he made it part of his life to compliment her everyday. He knew how much just one compliment could help him and he knew they would help her as well.....
