The Holy Spirit is an all powerful being and an extension of God Himself, all things are possible to Him. Barriers like addictions, attitudes, lusts, homosexuality, perversions, lies, obsessions, physical and mental illnesses can be easily defeated when you have the Holy Spirit on your side. The only condition is you must want to be set free.
God respects your free will and your choices, the only thing He will NOT do is force you into something against your wishes. At any point He will only give you a gentle nudge in the right direction whether or not you obey is always left to you.
The barriers described here are not really barriers for Him, He can easily break them down. They are barriers in your life, He will not interfere if you do not want to be set free. For example, God knows your body and brain are chemically addicted to alcohol or tobacco, He knows on your own, even if you try you may not succeed. He will fill you with His Spirit and then the Holy Spirit will help you overcome your weaknesses. However if you secretly like the alcohol or cigarettes and don't really want to quit yourself then God will not force you.
Similarly if you enjoy watching pornography, God may show you its wrong but He won't stop you. If you however realize that its wrong and want to stop He will then help you and fill you with His Holy Spirit and you will most certainly have victory.
The single greatest barrier is sin, it separates us from God. Sin which has not been confessed and repented of is the greatest barrier between God and you. The good news is you can confess in a private place, between just God and yourself and if you are sincerely sorry, God will forgive you.
