Alex's POV

I was sprinting through the woods almost tripping over fallen branches and roots. I was dodging the trees as best as I could at that speed, I was going so fast I missed the ditch and rolled onto the asphalt street. I looked up after figuring my leg was dislocated judging by the searing pain shooting through it. I watched as Chris got out of the lead truck and came down to my level.

"What took you so long?" he asked jokingly. I smirked at him and shook my head.

"Well, legs dislocated, need a lift to the truck so they can patch me up." I replied smoothly.

"Sure thing, hold on tight, it's going to hurt." He said as he lifted me up. I about yelled at the top of my lungs at the amount of pain I was feeling. The back door of the truck opened revealing my brother and his friend Mike. They helped Chris place me in the back of the truck, holding onto my leg to make sure it didn't move too much. I gritted my teeth as Chris started the truck and began moving. Mike and Eric were on their knees looking at the odd angle of my leg. Eric grabbed it yanked it back and put back in place so fast I hardly had a chance to scream. I could feel it throbbing after so bad I could feel my heart beat in my head. We continued down the road for about thirty minutes occasionally running into a herd of walkers, running over them as we went.

"We're almost there aren't we?" I asked Chris as we went over a pothole.

"Yeah, about five more minutes, we'll pull up and get orders from Tim and we'll go from there." He replied smirking at me from his drive seat. "Feels like old times don't it?"

"Nott exactly," I replied feeling confused.

"Eh, you're right, not as many Semolina assholes trying to kill us." Eric said butting in.

"We're here; signal them to stop here Mike." Chris said as he slowed down.

The place we arrived at was a large convenience store, with up to twenty different gas pumps. We had enough food to feed an elephant for three years, and enough alcohol to make any priest drunk just from the fumes. We all got out... well, I limped out, and we headed for Tim's truck, to make plans. Tim got out of the truck, his friends in tow, all looking a bit scared.

"Alright, first thing first, I'll take a group to clear out the building, when we get back we can start extracting the supplies, grab everything you can. Put it anything you can find and bring it to the stocking crew. Stocking crew will take everything and organize it in the trucks so we get as much as possible. Chris, and Mike, fuels the trucks up, Josh and 10k, clear out the building, and when you get back keep a lookout for anything. Violet, Bo, Katie, and Mariah, get the food, bring it to the front door and stack it. Patrick, Josh, Alex, and I will bring the supplies back and forth to the truck. Everyone else keeps a lookout, or cleans out the trucks. Everyone know their jobs?" He stopped momentarily to look at everyone watching as we each nodded our heads in confirmation."Alright everyone let's move it, don't want to be here long so get in your places and get to work."

Everyone split up and got to their individual stations. I was with Tim, Patrick, and Josh, placing the supplies in the trucks. It took us nearly two hours to get three quarters of the supplies loaded up in the trucks when we heard Tim's radio crackle.

"Tim we got movement about three hundred yards out. Looks like we got walkers headed our way, I'd say we got about ten minutes to pack everything up and move out." 10k's voice said over the radio. "They're starting to move faster it seems."

"Ok, we'll get everything loaded up," Tim replied quickly. "Alright everybody, double time, we don't have long, got a herd heading this way."

Everyone started moving faster as the minutes dragged on; we'd gotten about halfway through all the supplies when we heard a scream from the backside of the store. Tim and I raced to the back to find Katie trapped on top of a massive propane tank surrounded by walkers. Tim grabbed one of his swords and ran to her aid. He swung at the first one slicing right through its skull splattering black blood everywhere. I grabbed my bat and smashed the one in front of me coating my face in blood and brain. I heard footsteps behind me so I turned ready to swing when I noticed it as the rest of us with weapons in hand. Katie whimpered still stuck on top of the tank so I turned and got back to work. The monsters turned when hearing the noise behind them and started toward us slowly, limping, snarling, and growling lowly, with their cold gray lifeless eyes and gray dead skin. Tim was on a role, slicing and swinging his sword at their heads. I watched the next one come up to me and it was cut down by Violet with her pipe. We stood back to back surrounded by the monsters. Eric ran in out of nowhere in hockey gear and an axe the size of my and head and laughing insanely. Cutting down half of them just by swinging the thing like a lunatic, he stopped suddenly and yelled like crazy. Then Mike, Chris, and 10k came running up and took the rest of them down without blinking. It happened so fast we didn't even realize that the rest of our group was still running with their bats and knives ready for action. Katie was still stuck up on the tank and Tim was walking toward her to help her down. I turned to Eric and he was covered in blood and gore with his axe on his shoulder. He was still laughing lowly, while everyone turned to Tim for instructions.

"10k get back to your lookout and we'll pick you up on our way back, we don't want anymore surprises. Eric goes with him. Mike, Chris, and Bo will watch the truck and the take radios. Everyone else lets finish up." He was saying while comforting Katie by holding her and rubbing her back. "Alex," he said getting my attention. "Stay a second." I nodded as everyone else walked to their stations and Tim looked at me with gratitude in his eyes. "Thank you for being right behind me. I want you to keep a close eye on the rest of the females around here would you?" I nodded and smirked at him. "When we get back I want you to take charge of security. I'll take care of giving positions out." Katie stifled and Tim looked at her. "They don't need to be here but they insisted on helping out. So I agreed. Just keep an eye on them till we get back."

"Sure thing boss, I'm surprised you took control so easily, I'd expect Chris to." I replied smirking. "But I bet you're doing a better job than Chris would have done."

"Thanks bro," he said patting my back.

"I need a better weapon." I stated holding the dented bat up and looking at the blood stained metal.

"I know, we'll find some in town when we go out for runs when we get back." Tim stated smirking."We need to go help." He said walking off holding Katie's hand.

It took us a total of fifteen minutes to finish and get loaded up. We began driving back in our truck and AMV. The road was already cleared from when we came through the first time so the trip was a lot faster. We met up with the rest of the caravan in about twenty minutes into the drive. The drive lastly only five more minutes as we reached the school, when we arrived, the teenagers guarding the driveway stopped Chris in the first truck to check it out.

Impressive, I thought to myself.

They let us through and we stopped at the back door and got out. I was taken to a separate building because of my injury.
