Wings of Fire: Blizzards Quest

Chapter 4

Blizzard could see the Skywing's just ahead. So many colors! Red and Orange scales shone in the sunlight. There were so many Skywing's. Too many. She looked at the scouts flying a few yards behind her. She sighed. She landed near the army of dragons. Scarlet stood in front of the crowd grinning. Her melted face twisted into an evil grin.

"Hello, Blizzard." Scarlet hissed.

"Why are you here?" Blizzard demanded. Scarlet hissed.

"How rude, to greet your new queen like that!" She said, lifting her head. Blizzard growled.

"I thought you were insane before, but this is a whole other level!" She said. Scarlet hissed.

"So, rumor has it your an animus. Correct?" The Skywing Queen asked. She examined her claws.

"HAH! Animus? Who told you that?! Obviously someone snail-brained!" Blizzard said, chuckling. Scarlet hissed, glaring at her.

"Your animus! I know it! Stop playing dumb! You are now my prisoner! Guards, throw chains on her!" Scarlet shouted. Guards came forward holding chains. They threw the chains at her. Blizzard gasped and jumped back. The chains landed at her talons and melted the snow. She hissed as guards surrounded her.

"You'll never take me alive!" Blizzard shouted. She spread her wings and shot into the air. She was stopped mid air. Pain shot through her. She shrieked and looked at her tail. A burning chain wrapped around her tail. She threw off the chain.

"Give up, Blizzard! Your weak!" Scarlet shouted. Blizzard was about to try and flee again but she was stopped yet again but not my chains. A scout had tackled a guard.

"Run Blizzard!" The scout shouted as he clawed at other guards. She hesitated. More guards tackled the scout. The scout shrieked and then dead silence. Scarlet laughed. The guards backed away revealing the lifeless body of the scout. Blizzard froze. This was the first death she had ever seen and it scared her.

"Aww, no one else to protect the poor weak princess." Scarlet said chuckling. Blizzard flew down to the body of the dead scout.

No...no...why? Blizzard thought. Her pupils turned to slits. She hissed and her head whirled around to face the skywing's.

"Join us Blizzard, and you'll be able to destry all if your enemy's! You could be a queen!" Scarlet said grinning. Blizzard hissed.

"Never! I'd never join you monsters!" Blizzard snapped. Scarlet growled.

"Fine! Then you can join my other enemy's in my prison!" Scarlet shouted. Guards surrounded Blizzard once again. She hissed. Clouds of yellow swirled around her and the snow began to rise. The snow turned into sharp blades of ice. The blades of ice launched themselves at the guards. Four guards dropped to the ground and the others screamed and fled. Blizzard stepped towards Scarlet. Scarlet gasped.

"S-Stay back!" Scarlet screeched. Blizzard tackled Scarlet and dug her claws into her shoulders. Scarlet winced. Blizzard saw the terror on the queen's melted face. She was frightened by it. Blizzard jumped back and Scarlet stood up holding her shoulder. Blood stained the ground below her. Blizzard looked at her bloodstained claws. Scarlet laughed.

"Excellent! This was unexpected. Obviously you anger brings out the best of your abilities!" Scarlet said, sounding overjoyed. "Now that you got that out of your system...are you ready to accept my offer?" Blizzard shook her head. She screwed her eyes shut. "You can't escape this! This is who you are!"

"No!" Blizzard shouted. Tears filled her eyes and she dashed away.
