Chapter 8
Later...
Riker POV
The bell rang, and class was over. This was it. Either we die, or we don't.
Skylar ran over to me near my locker. She sort of hid behind me as her ex walked up to us.
"I want to see you outside, Lynch."
"And what if I don't want to see you outside?"
He came over, and grabbed Skylar.
"Then you don't get the girl back, and I'll hurt her."
I glared at him.
"Do not hurt Skylar."
He raised his eyebrow at me.
"Then come outside. Now."
I shut my locker, and followed everyone outside.
"Me us at the park, Lynch."
"You think I'm dumb enough to go back there?"
"We're not planning on trapping you in the bathrooms. We just need to do this at a place with not many people."
He shoved Skylar into the car. The only reason I was going was for Skylar. I made a promise to her that she wouldn't get hurt. And I wasn't breaking that promise for anything in the whole world.
Since I didn't have a car, I walked there. Everyone had driven, so they were all waiting for me.
"I was starting to think you wouldn't show up," Skylar's ex said.
"I don't have a car. I had to walk."
"Alright, first thing's first. Tie up the girl."
I watched as they duck taped Skylar's hands together behind her back.
"Now get her in the bathroom."
They took her backpack off, and then trapped her in the bathroom. I stood there, watching everything. Skylar had been crying, but she wasn't hurt. She's just scared.
"Alright, Lynch."
"Why do you keep calling me that!? My name is Riker!"
The guy just glared at me.
"It's just you and me, Riker. Last man standing gets the girl. End of story."
"Right now? What are we doing?"
"Fighting, you idiot!"
"Ok, ok! Sorry."
I saw Skylar through the window in the bathroom. She was trying to get the duck tape off. I wanted to give her time by stalling, and maybe she could help in some way.
"Um... So could I have like 5 minutes to plan out what I want to do?" I asked.
"Are you serious right now?"
"Yeah...?"
"Fine. You get 5 minutes. And then I get to destroy you."
Skylar POV
I'm not strong. And those guys used a ton of duck tape on my hands. I backed up to the sinks, and tried to get the faucet in between my hands to help pry off the duck tape. It was so sticky, and now, my hands were starting to hurt from straining against it.
I kept glancing out the window. Riker hadn't started fighting my ex yet, so he's still ok right now. Riker's just standing there. I have no idea what he's doing, and why my ex isn't trying to kill him yet.
