The Secret I Never Told You

Chapter 8

          Jax nodded once he heard that.  He motioned for us to follow him.  Gabe looked at me for directions.  I shrugged and stood up.  Gabe and Laurence followed my actions.  Jax looked at us over his shoulder and glared at Gabe.  

"Jax where were you?" I froze in my spot when I saw a mop of hair familiar to mine.  He turned around and saw us.  Dakota's eyes lit up and he stood up quickly.

"Alexandra? Is that really you?" He hugged me and I awkwardly patted his back.  We haven't hugged since I was, like, twelve. 

"Mommy who is this people?" Laurence asked.  I smiled down at him and picked him up.

"Let's go shall we?" I smiled at Dakota and Jax.  They nodded and followed us out.  As we were walking to my house we passed by a candy store.  Laurence gasped and wiggled out of my arms.  He ran and put his tiny hands on the window.  

"Mommy can I has ones?" He asked.

"No baby. I don't have the money right now." Laurence's lips turned into a pout and started to quiver.  

"Wuncle Ape?" He turned to look at Gabe.  Gabe shook his head.

"Sorry buddy, I just used up all the money I had right now." Laurence's eyes started to fill up with tears.  Jax looked into his eyes and started to take his wallet out.

"I'll buy him one." Jax volunteered. Laurence smiled and hugged Jax's legs.  Jax looked down at Laurence with loving eyes.

"But it's too early for him to eat sugar." I objected.

"He'll save it for later." Jax shrugged. Laurence nodded and smiled. I sighed and nodded. We walked into the candy shop and Laurence looked around in awe. 

"Can we just buy the whole shop?" suggested Dakota, also looking around in awe. I giggled, I never knew that my brother had a childish side. Laurence picked up a big lollipop. I gasped at how big it was.

"This one Mommy!" he exclaimed. Jax looked at me. I shook my head.

"No Rence." Laurence pouted and did his cute puppy dog face, knowing that I couldn't say no to it.

"Fine." I sighed. We walked up to the cashier and Jax paid.  Laurence was about to unwrap the lollipop but I snatched it away from him.

"Remember that's it for later." I smiled and picked him up. Laurence crossed his arms and pouted at me. I giggled and followed the bo-men. We finally arrived at my house. and we walked in. Jax, Dakota, and Gabe sat on my couch. If you're wondering, Eric and Allyssa are at an appointment and Benny's at school. I checked the time, 1:15. Wow, we were at IHop for a long time. Well, we did leave at 10. I turned to look at the men.

"Okay, I'm gonna get straight to the point, Laurence remember when you asked about your daddy?" Laurence nodded and Jax stared at me wide-eyed. I guess he sort of figured it out. I crouched down to Laurence's height and pointed to Jax.

"Well, there he is." I smiled when Laurence smiled and looked at Jax. Laurence ran into Jax's opened arms and wrapped his arms around his neck. Jax started kissing Laurence's chubby cheeks. Dakota hugged Larence too, screaming, "I'M AN UNCLE.". Jax got up and hugged me. Gabe awkwardly walked out and waved to me. Jax and Dakota hugged me tighter and Laurence was hugging my legs. After that, we caught up on things while Laurence took his nap. It was 2:00 so I got up and Dakota and I went to pick up Benny.
