Chapter 7: Wake Up

Ryūjin Jakka, is the Zanpakuto spirit of Genryūsai Yamamoto. It's name means Flowing Blade-like Flame in English. It has tremendous spiritual power. The way it fights is by manipulating flames showing its form. Ryūjin Jakka is powerful enough to destroy Ichigo's Hollow Mask in a matter of seconds. With the blazing facts about the great and powerful Ryūjin Jakka, what do you expect the outcome of the Fire and Ice battle to be?

Karin is stronger than Ichigo, that has been established. Setsumi, her Zanpakuto spirit, also has a large force of spiritual power. They have mastered their Shikai and Bankai, but is it enough to beat Yamamoto? Remember that Hitsugaya Toshiro is also fighting along side her with his spirit, Hyorinmaru. They posses immense speed and excellent swordsmanship. Though they posses an exorbitant amount of power and their bond is dangerously strong, can that be enough to conquer?

Continuing on the battlefield, Karin, Toshiro, and Yamamoto are surrounded by a wall of intense fire. Yamamoto was still using his Shikai form, while Karin and Toshiro were using their Bankai. Ryūjin Jakka has a Bankai form but told his master that there was no need for it.

The flames kept burning around them. Toshiro began to damage the wall of heat. Though you could see him extinguish it and cause steam to rise, the flames recovered rapidly. There was definitely no use in continuing the damage because Ryūjin Jakka kept replenishing itself.
Toshiro stopped and gasped for air. Yamamoto saw that as an opening, so he got his Zanpakuto to latch out on Toshiro. Luckily Karin moved swift enough to block the raging attack. Then frost started spreading and was unfortunately stopped by more fire. The Ice Duo was safe, but they needed a plan.

Their aura turned brighter than white. Even Yamamoto flinched because of the bright light surrounding the Ice Masters. A flash of light came by him. A streak of blood bursted from Yamamoto's chest. He was hit, and got enraged at the feeling. It had been some time before someone was able to land even a finger on his old body.

As Yamamoto's rage increased, Karin and Toshiro backed away. Blood dripped off of Karin's right sword and droplets covered her face. Then they searched for Yamamoto, but he was nowhere to be found. Of course that was his plan, to be unnoticed. Toshiro moved in time to not be penetrated by a fire blade, but did suffer an injury. Karin lowered her guard as she saw Toshiro wince in pain. Yamamoto tried to injure her as well, but Karin saw that coming. She held both blades straight out in front of her. When Yamamoto came, he was moving to quickly to stop. As Karin held the wounded man in her swords, his aura glowed.

Karin was hit with a great wave of heat and was pushed back into Toshiro's arms. Something big was coming, something large and powerful. Yamamoto was unleashing his Bankai. Ryūjin Jakka was already powerful enough along side of Yamamoto. Now they're going all out, the force of fire coming at them overwhelmingly.

Zanka no Tachi is releasing itself in the glorious aura Yamamoto was producing. When Yamamoto fought Aizen, Nanao couldn't breath. Toshiro and Karin were powerful enough to survive the immense spiritual power. The fight continued with a few words said by Yamamoto.

"I see you were able to injure me, but I have hurt you as well. Wanting to end this little conflict, I'll kill you now. My Bankai isn't shown often, consider this my honor for you Kurosaki Karin." He said with blood-thirsty eyes.

Karin prepared herself for what was coming. She jumped out of her embrace and got into her battle stance. One sword materialized in Yamamoto's hand. Then the clashing of the swords started. Something unimaginable happened later.

Yumichika Ayasegawa appeared, though he was not a captain or lieutenant. As Karin battled Yamamoto, Yumichika used his real Shikai on Toshiro. Since he appeared unexpectedly, Toshiro was defenseless. Yumichika was able to get Toshiro under his manipulation with the Shikai he was born to use. No longer Fujaku, this time he used Ruri'iro Kujaku. Why was here though? Yumichika was the one person Yamamoto called for reinforcements. Part of the plan was to get Toshiro against Karin, so none else would have to fight.

Toshiro was not conscious of his doings, he latched out at the one he loved. No mercy, just the intention to kill. Once Toshiro was fully under the control of Yamamoto and Yumichika they left the battlefield. The wall of fire disappeared and the two who shared a bond remained.

Karin was confused. The fighting suddenly stopped until she found her swords defending her from Toshiro. She looked at him in the eyes, and noticed this was not his doing. Yamamoto used her greatest fear against her, fighting the ones she loved.

"Toshiro, listen to me! Wake up from this horrible trance!" She told him as their white blades disconnected.

Toshiro did not respond to her words. He continued trying to vanish her from the world of the living. She wasn't his enemy, but he could not stop. Karin kept defending herself. She felt tears run from her eyes and told Toshiro what he had been longing to hear.

"Stop it already! I-I love you!" She shouted at his cold eyes while hers continued to water.

Their love was great, but it hurt both of them. Now they fought each other. Their bond only grew stronger, but was it strong enough to wake Toshiro?

Blood soon covered the battlefield. Karin had struck Toshiro and he had struck her. To beings of the same abilities trying to conquer. Karin had to endure the pain she was facing, along with Toshiro if he wakes up.

Karin once again shouted,
"Wake up!"
