When you need groceries... A normal person would go to the store and buy things, right? Well what kind of normal family do you think I have? My husband is Patrick Stump. How can I go on a shopping trip and be normal with them?
In the parking lot, he slips his hand into mine and steals a kiss on my cheek. I blush and smile at him as we walk inside.
Patrick never took this seriously. I had to say, it was going better than last time. That was until he hopped onto the end of the shopping cart. He flashed his teeth at me in a childish way. I rolled my eyes and pushed the cart around, gradually increasing speed.
"Wheeee!" he laughed and squealed. I joined in, adding twists and turns through isles.
There was not a doubt in my mind that people were definitely staring at us. I didn't care, and obviously, neither did Patrick.
I ended up out of breath in the frozen food isles. He finally jumped off and stopped laughing, "What did we even come here for?"
I giggle, grabbing hold of the cart, "I don't remember."
Patrick goes searching through the frozen items. He surprisingly picked out a couple things that were on my mental list. It helped me remember what we needed. Who needs paper when you have a Stump?
"Let it go. Let it go," I heard Patrick mumble as we left the section. I chuckled and bumped him in the hips. He smirked and bounced back, giving me a taste of my own medicine. I bumped him again, harder this time, and sent him into someone else's cart.
His cheeks went cherry red and he breathed out a laugh, "Sorry."
Meanwhile, I was biting my lip, trying not to laugh, as he came back to me.
"Way to go, Leah," he pouted, but he couldn't hide that smile from poking out.
"Aww, baby, are you okay?" I slide an arm under him and hug him, "Let me rub your side for you."
He started to grin, "Can you kiss it to make it feel better?"
A store worker glanced at us.
"Later," I winked. Patrick fell behind, but came skipping back.
He managed to find the dumbest things ever. Every time I'd look away, he bring something even worse back.
As I was taking a box of cereal off of the counter, Patrick smiled through the other side of the isle. I jumped back, "What are you doing?"
He held up a box of pads, "Do you need any of these?"
I growled under my breath and swatted it out of his hands. He laughed and put them back.
"Just you wait," I shook my finger at him once he caught up again, "I'll find you some nice men's diapers to buy."
After a while, I noticed that he kept getting quieter and quieter. For any normal man, this would be great. For Patrick, it means he's getting into trouble. I look behind me to find him gone, just gone.
I sigh, grinning and shaking my head. Where's he gone off to this time? He'll turn up. I had to finish grocery shopping for now.
A few minutes later, a voice came over the speaker, "Leah Stump, we have a Patrick waiting for you at the front desk."
I face-palmed my forehead and laughed, racing up to the front desk to find Patrick waving to me, "Hi honey."
The lady rolled her eyes at us.
"Sorry," I told her, "I'll make sure I keep him in my sight from now on..."
"Whatever," she muttered and walked away. As soon as she's out of reach, the both of us start cracking up.
As we're getting ready to pay, Patrick's putting our things onto the belt, singing Kanye songs. The cashier looks down at him, smiling to herself.
She did a double take, as if recognizing his voice, "Hang on, are you Patrick Stump from Fall Out Boy?"
"That's me!" he smiled all cheesy-like again, but this time, it was adorable.
"My daughter loves you! Could I get your autograph for her?" she asked.
Patrick lifted the pen and signed the electronic pad for our bill, "Is that good?"
She blushed and stammered, "Umm..."
"I'm just kidding," he said and autographed a piece of paper for her.
We went back to our car and unloaded everything. I joked with him about getting lost as we headed back home.
