I cannot believe what my ears are hearing. Big Al is making the biggest mistake of his of his life. Heidi is a total bitch! He is committing social suicide and will probably end up committing regular suicide.

I take Heidi’s ring off of her finger and run. I am trying to cause a diversion. I need to get Heidi away from the other girls. Heidi pops out of her chair and follows me out into the stripper pole jungle. She yells, “Give me my ring back!”

I throw my hands up and say, “Heidi I did not bring you out here to fight. I just want to ask how all of this marriage talk came about.”

Heidi approaches me. I yell, “Touch me and I will throw the ring!”

She laughs and sits down. She gestures for me to sit down next to her. I decide to, but only because she scares me. She holds her hand out for the ring and I place it in her palm. She closes her palm and sighs. She says, “Well it all started a month ago, right around when you started working here. Big Al thought that I was such a great stripper, and he started ordering me for private shows. I started to realize that he was becoming attracted to me and my attraction to him became obvious. He started asking for me to engage in sexual acts with him and I agreed for the extra money. He proposed to me, and I was shocked. My mouth spoke before my brain could intervene. Now we are happily engaged.”

I begin to argue with her and she says, “Save it Onyx. I am only doing this, because I am a gold digger, and I need the money to take care of my son. Let’s face it, Big Al is loaded and he can help me and my son out tremendously. I am also attracted to him.”

I sigh and place my face in my hands. Heidi is obviously not going to change her mind. She is too stubborn. I just feel bad for the both of them. Heidi has to marry a man to help out her child, and Big Al is going to end up getting hurt in the long run. I get up and say, “Well I give my blessing to you guys and hope you have a long happy marriage.”

I walk away from Heidi. She and I may be rivals, but I still care for her. I go back to the dressing room in search of the other strippers. I open the door to the room and they are all gone. I look around and they are nowhere to be found. I say to myself, “How do four plus-sized strippers leave a room without anyone noticing?”

I look in the last place I would deem reasonable, which is Estelle’s office. Of course, I open the door and they are all crowding around her desk. I slam the door, and they all turn around to face me. I laugh and ask, “What is going on?”

Estelle stands up and says, “Onyx please have a seat. You and I have things to discuss.”

The girls make a pathway for me to get to the only seat available in her office. I sit down in front of the other strippers, and opposite Estelle. I stare at Estelle and it is eerie how she is mimicking my facial expression. I cough, and she gestures for the other strippers to exit the office. I hear sighs and grunts as they leave. Estelle turns to face me and says, “Well look who it is? How are you doing?”

I have no clue what to say. Why is she being so kind to me? I put my hands in my lap and cautiously say, “I’m doing fine. How are you?”

She puts out her cigarette and proceeds to stand up. She coughs as she says, “I’m peachy! I was just told some frightening information by the other strippers. What happened Friday night?”

Damn it! Rose could not keep her big mouth shut. I knew I shouldn’t have told her my secrets. I start to sweat and I squeak, “Umm, I lost the stripper battle, and went home to wallow in my grief.”

Estelle slams her hands on the table and screams, “Lies! Lies, lies, lies! Why the hell are you keeping this from me? All you have to do is put your trust in me, and I can help you! I won’t help you unless you tell me what happened.”
