It's Not A Date

Well, I woke up earlier than usual, probably earlier than everyone else so that's a first. Mabel's probably still sleeping and I don't want to disturb her so I get up and quickly take a shower before I get changed into something different. And by different, I mean just wear a different shirt with the same jeans because it's so much easier.

As I shove my phone in the pocket of my jeans, I felt something ruffle against the back of my hand. Freezing, I take whatever's in there out and examine it.

At first I thought it was just some scrunched up piece of paper until I unscrunched it carefully and realised what it really was. It was that burnt up page from the journals before they were destroyed. The summoning page. With a drawing of Bill Cipher on the corner.

I could barely look at it without ripping it apart. But there was no point. Like I said, it always had a way of coming back to me. I look at it closer, seeing as it was already in my hand. Above the incantation to summon him were the words:

If ever you what to talk again...

It was something that I hadn't noticed before. Why would I ever want to talk to him again?! What made him think I would ever in a million years want him back in this dimension?!

I threw the piece of paper on my dresser and stormed out of my room. From just a single object, my morning has already been spoiled. But I hope that the rest of the day wouldn't be that bad.

I leave the house and make my way into town. It's a good walk but I don't really mind. There's a light breeze blowing and it keeps me cool as I walk.

Five minutes gone and I've just passed the town hall. I see two familiar people sitting in the bench in front of the building and decide to say hi.

Apparently, Cheif Blubbs had retired early and Durland had become the new Cheif police officer. They were talking amongst themselves until they saw me.

"Durland , look!" Blubbs exclaimed "City Boy has returned."

"How ya doin', kid?" Durland asked.

"Fine," I smile, rubbing the back of my neck. I notice a golden ring on both of their ring fingers. Sweet, I thought to myself. I left the two so that they could continue their talk. It would be a long time until Pacifica's shift ended so I thought I could just walk around town and reacquaint myself with everything until it does.

A lot of things have changed. The people, the places. It isn't the same Gravity Falls I used to know. But I guess that's for the best. Besides, if everything was completely the same, I'd have a hard time thinking about the past and forgetting this was the present.

After the walk, I made my way to the mall even if there was still about 2 solid hours before Pacifica's shift would end. I hadn't had breakfast yet so I buy a coffee and a pastry from a store at the food court and sit down and eat.

As I'm biting down on the pastry, I feel a tap in my shoulder and I turn around immediately.

"Pacifica!" I say, my mouth full of pastry. She giggles, sitting down on the opposite chair.

"Mind if I join you?"

I quickly swallow the food in my mouth and reply "Not at all!" She means her head on her knuckles and looks down at my coffee. My face became flustered "If I thought you were going to meet me this early, I would have bought some for you as well..."
