CHAPTER 2-TAKING FLIGHT

Ok so this isn't going to be quite as serious as the last chapter at the beginning but there's still plenty of action, but it's a bit harder to create much seriousness because it's my P.O.V. and not the focus. Hope you enjoy!

"KLINK"

...

"CLANG"

It was the sound of metal hitting metal and a girl shot up from her bed as if she'd been waiting for that sound her whole life. A hot toffee girl was in the bed. She had a few teal and rich purple streaks in her slightly curly hair. To top it off the girl also sports a pair of beautiful pure white feathered wings, extending from just in between her shoulder blades. She turned her hazel gaze to a couple of humanoids in white and black full body suits. One of 'them' holding a tray with what she usually got in the morning: bread, water, some butter and a green apple. Yes not only does she simply refer to these people as 'them' but she actually prefers green apples to red.

Shifting her body so that her fair skinned feet were dangling over the edge, she slid off the plain yet comfortable bed. carefully stepping onto the cold floor of her home, which isn't what most would expect.

'The Avian' was a 19 year old girl, hot toffee colored hair which reached a couple inches under the shoulder blades and a few long teal and rich purple highlights on the left side of her head. She generally kept her hair in a neat pony tail with three feathers attached to the hair tie to go along with the most notable large pure white wings, protruding from between the shoulder blades and currently folded against her back. With a pair of beautiful Amber eyes.

Her location is a bit more complicated. Atop an ancient mountain, sits a sparkling gold colored metal bird cage. Some important questions would be if anyone has seen the shimmering cage. not a single stranger, the reason is that there is some extremely dense fog around the top of the mountain that's able to completely conceal the cage. There's also a smaller building, more facilitated than the cage. that seems to be coming out of the top of the side of the top of the mountain, directly next to the cage.

Some might think it's wonderful; shelter, food, and some forms of entertainment, but like everything there are still some cons, which might affect this girl the most. The Avian is part bird so anyone could guess that being concealed and held in a cage that, unable to fly with anything or anyone else, no birds not really any friends. Every now and then she'd see a flock of birds fly past and want to be soaring through the beautiful sky right alongside them. She'd reach out every now and then and sometimes a bird would stop, land on her hand and kind of socialize.

Sometimes there'd also be some weird beast that might go by and she became particularly good friends with someone most might not expect. Yes, she became friends with a mythical beast, and that mythical beast just so happens to be a dignified, glorious, flaming Phoenix. with beautiful golden, and rose colorings. The magnificent creature was a juvenile and would come around a few times a week. she had come to call the bird Solar instead of just pheonix or flame bird.

Other than that, she's sheltered, hasn't really experienced anything from the outside world. Though she gets to see everything she doesn't really experience it, with all the education she needs from a program on a screen teaching her all those much hated subjects such as math, some language arts, and reading and literally no history.

She's educated enough though and as she retrieved her tray of food from them she didn't really think much of it, but immediately turning back to see them leave the clever little bird noticed something odd. It was the fact that the them had various scorch marks around it's hands and legs, in contrast to it's normally white attire. She would like know what exactly was the cause of the abnormal marks. Her thoughts were just going to all sorts of things, while absentmindedly eating her 'amazing' breakfast. With every crunch and bite of an apple her thoughts kept rolling, till there was a disturbance.
