Chapter 4 - The Touch

We were wrapping up our work for the day, a rather long and hectic work day. But, I was happy. I get to live my dream, the dream of standing behind the camera and witnessing the birth of a whole new world which will come to life only on a theatre screen. Soon, that day would arrive when my own story will come alive on the canvas for the whole world to see. As we were packing up, Mohit came and asked me, "Hey, are you up for some drinks? We are planning to go at a Pub".

For those who know me, they know that I am not fond of drinking. To hell with drinking, I am not at all fond of going out. I am the kind of girl who loves to rush home from office, slip into comfy pajamas, get under the blanket and read a book or Netflix. That is bliss! Why go to a pub and die due to the crowd, heat and asphyxiation? But, this was Mohit here. He ASKED me out! Of course, not for a date since, there will be others too, but hey, it's not gonna be bad. I contemplated my answer while he looked at me weirdly. I asked, "What"? He replied, "You don't like pubs, right"? I looked at him dumbfounded. How on the earth did he know? Can he read minds? Did I say out loud? I just managed to mumble, "Wha... How... What... But..."
"Hahaha, relax. It's ok. If you are not comfortable, we shall cancel the plan and go somewhere else".
"Oh God no. Please don't cancel the plan just for me. I will come with you guys. Never went before, but there is no harm going there for the first time".
"That's great! I'll go and get the others, till then you finish packing up, we shall meet outside. Cool"?
"Cool". With butterflies in my stomach, I hurriedly finish my task and get to the washroom to see my condition. I looked into the mirror and checked my reflection, I looked good, all ready to go. I met Mohit and rest of the gang outside. Manvi seemed to be very excited since this is the first time I was going to the pub with them. "Payal, I promise. This will be the best(est) night of your entire life". "Haha, thank you baby. Now let's go and have the time of our lives".

We reached Trinity shortly. It is known as one of the happening night clubs in the city, apparently, as told to me by my friends. I just don't have any clue about any of the night club in the city. As we entered the club, I was engulfed with a strange atmosphere at once. It was completely dark except for the frequent colorful lights which wasn't much pleasant. There was a large crowd and the music was very very loud, far too loud than my comfort zone. Oh god! Why am I here? I cursed myself under my breath. Mohit somehow sensed my tense persona. He asked me little loudly, "Are you okay?" I gave him a nod and a bright smile. I didn't want to dampen his spirits, he was very excited to come here. He smiled and shouted, "Guys! What are we waiting for? Let's party!" We went to the bar. Everybody picked up their drinks, meanwhile I settled for a humble breezer. We were having our drinks and laughing and talking. Somehow, I began to feel comfortable and good. It was really nice to be here with these people. I began to enjoy myself. Suddenly Mir and Zoya stood up and went to the dance floor. Others followed them too. I was just enjoying myself watching them dance when Mohit extended his hand towards me. "Care to dance?" he looked at me with that warm smile. "I am not a great dancer Mohit, you will be embarrassed to dance with me." I chuckled. "Just trust me, I promise you will have a great time." Even in the dark, I could see his eyes, gleaming with a certain passion. It was magical! This guy is doing something to me which was very dangerous, but I didn't have any care for the world. I took his hand and stood up. We went to the dance floor and began dancing. I really felt liberated and happy. I just swayed and moved as the music worked it's magic on my body. Suddenly, I felt an arm around my waist. I froze on my spot. The guy who held me, gave a sudden jerk and pulled me towards him. He smelled of alcohol and gave me an evil smile. "Come on baby! Dance with me." I screamed and tried to wriggle myself out of his hold, when I heard a loud thud. The guy fell on the floor and Mohit stood beside me. "Are you alright?" he looked at me with concern. I stood frozen. Flashbacks kept coming back to me.

Hahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!

The world around me began to spin and suddenly everything became dark as I fell on the ground.
