Goddess Hunter

Chapter 1

Hi, my name is Victoria Green, but everyone calls me Phantom, because it seems that I disappear in mid-air to get away from bullies. I am 17 and have blond hair and ghostly purple eyes. I go to Alexander High with my best friend, Catherine. Every day between periods, Blake, the star quarterback at our school, and his minions, Coby, John and Andrew, push me into lockers and into everything and everyone else, then I get to class feeling miserable, but today was different. It all started when two new kids came to school and inspected me like I am a some kind of cure for cancer during 2nd period.

At the back of the school, which had two trees indicating the other corners, while the 11th grade hall covers the other two, I saw them again still staring down at me, like they were expecting me to be here. Usually, no one is here, not even Blake goes though besides me; it is quite a thing that these two boys are here. Must be that Blake bully them too.

"Hello, I'm Herms," introduced Hermes, "And this is Zue." He pointed at his friend with white hair that curves right, covering one of his eyes.

"Hi, I'm Victoria, do you want me to show you around school, you were pretty interested in me during science class," she asked politely with a smirk.

"Well, not exactly,"Zue said mysteriously.

"Ok, if you need me- wait, Blake is back with his goons, got to go," she said in a hurry, and with that she seemed to disappear in a cloud of smoke, as she run out the gate.

"Looks like we found our hero, Hermes,"Zeus said

"I told you so," said Hermes with appreciation.

Though as I was getting away, later today I accidently bumped into Blake. At the next moment before I was able to get away they got their hands on me and swung me down the 1st floor stairs, laughing hysterically. When I looked up, a crowd was surrounding me trying to trap me. But unexpectedly I phased through one of the students. Everyone looked at her with wide eyes as she shivered.

I finally caught up to Catherine in 4th period with my stomach starving, after that event took place.

"I'm serious, Catherine, the principal needs to do something about Blake and his buddies, but he won't since he is the 'star quarterback'," I exclaimed sarcastically. All Catherine did to reply was scoff and twirl her hair,"Well at least you are able to 'disappear' to get away while the rest of us take the blows," she snapped back raising one of her eyebrows.

"Sorry to upset you all great one," I said letting out a little giggled," I'll see you at lunch." "Sure, see you there 'Phantom," she said as she lean back in her chair loosening up, doodling on her math test.

Behind a tree right outside of the gate with the symbol of the American Eagle, leading in the woods, Zeus said to Hermes, "You chose well, Hermes, she is kind, deliberate, can make good out of any situation, and with a special talent in the mix, yes she will do fine, but she needs to know that running away isn't the solution to everything though, so Chiron needs to train her,"

"Yes definitely, I knew you will like her, now we just need to convince her and give her real powers," encouraged Hermes.

As we lined up my stomach was starving more than ever.

"I wonder what is for lunch," I asked. Hopefully it is pizza.

"I don't know what it is, but I know that it will be hot with Luke at our table," Catherine said dreamily.

"You should go talk to him, I think he likes you." I dared her.

"Oh, come on you know he likes Josie more, she is the most popular girl in school and is flirting with him right now, as you can see, so then, no," answered Catherine.

"Come on, he just turned her down," I shot back.

"Fine, but if I get humiliated, I will never forgive you." I smiled and watched waiting for the fun to begin. Catherine walked up to Luke saying, "Hi, Luke, I'm Catherine."

"Hi, Catherine, nice to meet you," Luke said with a smile waving at her,"Isn't your friend the 'Phantom' that everyone talks about is here?" Catherine couldn't believe what she was hearing, Luke, in a middle of a talk changes the subject to the 'Phantom' talk like everyone else does, even when she isn't even near them.

"Gah!" Catherine said enthusiastic and stormed off outside.

"Wait!" Luke said trying to get her to come back,"I just wanted something to talk about." By that time she was greatly distant to hear his calls.

"I'll show her, I'll show them all that I am interesting, too, and I'll do anything," she muttered to herself and by that time she was in the courtyard with some unwanted ears.

"Anything, you say?"said a mysterious man.

"Who are you?" Catherine asked.

"Someone who can make you very interesting," he said with a smile.

"I'll do anything, just lead the way," she confirmed.

"Ah! It's the weekend, time to just relax before school," I said happily.

"Ding-dong," the doorbell rang.

"Who could that be?" I asked myself. When I opened the door, I saw Herms and Zue. Seriously, are they stalking me? "Hey, what are you guys doing here?" I asked.

"We are here on a very special mission," Zue answered. For a second I thought they were going to put a secret camera in my room, but I knew that they weren't total stalkers, aren't they?

"Sure, come on in," I told them.

"Actually, you are coming with us,"Zue told me in return.

"Unless you are Zeus himself, I don't need to go anywhere," I shot back. Still how could he be Zeus he's not even real it is all just a myth.

"Good point, at least I am Zeus," Zeus said, and with that he started to turn into his god form along with Hermes, at the front of my door.

"Ok, I did not see that coming," I said in surprise, but I thought I was just imagining.

"I bet you didn't, now down to business, a mortal your age has been able to capture two goddesses and is beginning to build an army to take out the rest of us," Zeus explained. Then Hermes snapped his fingers and we teleported to the gods' court in Mount Olympus, it had fountains, symbols of all the gods shown in flags, and a long table where me, Zeus, and Hermes sat at. This is definitely a dream.

"Wow, what is this place," I asked the gods, as I was wondering towards one of the chairs with a symbol of a wheat plant, looking at the other chair's symbols. I thought, why would I be here, can this be true, and how in the world are we here.

"This is the god's courtroom," explained Zeus as he sat in the large throun at the end of the table, with the golden lighting bolt on it, "It is where all the gods' held their meetings and this is court for us."

"So why am I here then, have I done something wrong?"

"No, in fact we need you to take down this 'Goddess Hunter," said Hermes, as he sat in his chair with the feather-winged boots on it.

"Uhh, I am basically useless for you guys, and plus I will get myself killed against a hunter," I said.

"First of all, this guy have celestial armor, in which our powers doesn't work on, but your powers does, since you are not either a demi-god nor a god. Second Chiron will help you out, he should be fine with a non-demigod in his hands, and he will teach you how to use your powers towards their full advantage," said Zeus.

"Plus, to help you out on your quest, if you accept it, we can give you additional powers to help you out to at least survive out there, so do you accept," said Hermes?

"Do I get a cool name?"I asked.

"You can be what you already are, and that is 'Phantom," Zeus answered.

"Well since I have no good use for these powers except for getting away from people, so sure I accept the quest," I said, but thoughts ran through my head, telling me that I will died on this quest, and that it was insane, and it was just a dream. While the others said it is worth it. I started to feel sick.
