*Saskia’s P.O.V

“What the hell is this?!” I yell at James. When we get into the building, I can’t help but be a little let down. It is just an ordinary brick building, and it didn’t look any special. James laughs and I hit him on the arm. “James!” I shriek. “What’s so funny!?” I ask him, staring him down. I can hear distant beats, but I’m not sure where they are coming from. “You better explain everything!” I snarl. This whole night has been pissing me off, and I had had it. He smirked, the one that would make me do anything for him. “Ok, fine, fine. I ‘ll explain everything!” he tells me putting his hands up in surrender. I look at him expectantly, “from start to finish.” He sighs. “Ok, well firstly, we caught the subway, because come on. Friday night? Everyone is rushing to the city to party. Traffic would be mad.” He tells me. I nod. I guess it was an acceptable answer. “And then why we are in a dodgy place?” I ask him, widening my eyes. He smiles at me.

“Well, if I must tell the truth, this building right here is mine, well, it was my dad’s, but he gave it to me.” My eyes widened even more. James owned property! Not expected, but what did that have to do with being in a place like this? James read my mind. “My dad bought this place ages ago, when he was like, 21. He was so young, he had to buy something cheap, that’s why it is in a rough spot. He got it as an investment, and he kept it till this day, refurnishing it. He was sick of having it for so long, so he gave it to me, for my 17th birthday present.” He said smiling proud. I had to admit, I was pretty impressed. “He said I could do anything I wanted with it, so I made it into a club.” He tells me. I gasp. My 17 year old boyfriend, owns a club? “Shit James! Why didn’t you tell me!? I can’t believe you! How come nobdy knows about this place?” I ask him, looking at the building. It doesn’t look like club though.

He chuckles. “I actually havn’t brought any girls here yet, but I’ve told the guys, so you are the first girl I have brought. My dad thinks it’s wrong to bring underage girls to club, but you are an exception.” I smile at him, kissing him on the cheek. He was so sweet. This probably the nicest thing a guy has ever done! “Aww, thanks babe! You are so..” he cuts me off by kissing me. When I pull away, I ask, “Couple of questions...” James sighs. I laugh at him in a tease. “Why doesn’t it look like a club, and how come your dad doesn’t like girls underaged enter?” I ask him. He looks back at me. “Well, first of all, this is the back of the building, so we have to walk around it to get in, and there will be the entrance, and my dad doesn’t like girls going in because, well, you know, the rapists and stuff, and them getting drunk and being takin advantage of. He just doesn’t want to be responsible.” He shrugs. I nod in agreement. He takes my hand and leads me to the front. I gasp.

I suddenly realise where the beats were coming from. The place is mad. There were bright pink and yellow flashing lights everywhere, and a big sign on the front reading, ‘Aurora’ in blue neon. There were bouncers, and a massive que, waiting to get it. It was pretty cool, considering I had never been to a club before. I pulled James to the side, with a bright smile. “Oh my god James! This is crazy shit! Are you sure about this?” I ask him. I really don’t want him to get into trouble with his dad. He smiles. “Don’t worry, my dad won’t find out, just have fun.” He winks at me, and I peck him on the mouth. “Well, do we have to line up?” I ask him. He rolls his eyes. “Are you seriously asking me that question? I own the club! We have a private entry.” He takes my hand and I follow him.

Then a daunting question hangs over me. I stop and James looks at me questioningly. “James, I can’t go in! I don’t have a fake ID!” I whine. He chuckles. “Ha, don’t worry Sas, I have the final say in these things, and when security knows your with me, it should be fine.” I sigh with relief. Thank god. “Ok, if your sure,” I tell him. He just sighs and shakes his head. “Wait, one question, why is this place called Aurora?” I ask him. Hurt flickers through his eyes and he looks at the ground. Hopefully I didn’t cross a boundary? “I-I’m sorry! Did I say something wrong”? I  cross over to him. “No, no.I guess you should know anyway.” I look at him intently, internally telling him he can trust me. “Well, both of my parents grew up in New York, and so did I. I got expelled from my last school, that’s where I met Oliver by the way, so that’s why my dad sent me here in 9th grade to try and make me get it together. Well, Chenary is strict, but it isn’t that bad, so I havn’t really changed.” He smirked. I smile at him. One thing we both have in common, we both got expelled. “Well, heaps of people have been saying Chenary isn’t like what the brochure says, I guess I know what they mean now.” I smile at him, and he laughs back. “You have no idea. Yeah, anyway, getting off topic. Well, when I was in 8th at my old school, I got a call from my dad saying my mum had dyed. I didn’t believe him at first, but when I saw her lieing in the hospital bed, motionless, I knew it was true. I was gutted, seriously. I hadn’t really been close to my parents, but seeing her dead made me know I didn’t really treat her like a proper mum. I mean, I did live with her, but we hadn’t really bonded.”
