Ice Cream
Just like all my stories, this was pre written, but I wrote most of this 2 weeks before I got wattpad, so yeah. While I was adding the second part, I discovered that I switched perspectives. Alot. I hate when people switch perspectives mid- paragraph, but it is too much to fix, even for me, a person with no life. So yeah Peoples, have fun reading. <3
It was the third Friday of the month which meant Couples Night! Piper had it arranged so that every month the seven and Calypso would so out and do something fun together. Tonight they were going out to a nice pizza place, bowling then ice cream. Piper had been trying to set up Nico and Reyna so she invited them both.
Reyna had been developing a crush on Nico ever since they started the Athena Parthenos quest. She longed for the day she could put her arms around him and call him her boyfriend. She sighed. Piper asked if she wanted to come to the Couples Night she hesitated, but said yes since she didn't have any preator duties or rather, anything else to do.
Nico had been crushing on Reyna ever since he got over Percy. Since he was single he never wanted to hang out with the four couples on the Couples Night. He was surprised when Piper suggested it. Piper begged him to come, even trying to use charm speak but he ignored her. Piper got Hazel to come and bargain with him. "It would mean the world to me Nico, please?" After twelve straight minutes of this he said "As long as you stop bothering me!", which Hazel knew that was the most they would get out of him.
TIMEFLASH
When the group walked into the restaurant, Nico and Reyna stood off to the side of the couples. When Piper told the waiter her reservation, the waiter asked "The three booths?" "Yes," Piper answered. "Me, Jason, Leo and Calypso can sit at this booth," she said pointed to one. Pointing to another she said, "Annabeth, Percy, Frank and Hazel can be here." She then pointed to one booth farther away from the others, "Reyna and Nico are here." She said that seating arrangement more confidently, meaning that specific table would have no negotiating.
"Ok," Reyna said as she and Nico walked farther back in the restaurant, "Oddly specific." Nico grinned, she caught herself staring. Has his eyes always sparkled when he smiled? She had to admit, it was only occasionally that she has ever seen him smiled.
"Um... Reyna?" He was sitting at the booth already and gestured for her to sit down on the other side of the booth. "Oh, sorry." She said, her face turning red. "It's fine." Why did she look so cute when she blushed? Stop, Nico. She would never like someone like you. Maybe this was Aphrodite playing with him.
"So, why are you here?" Reyna asked, breaking the silence. "I could ask the same for you, preator." "Long story short: I didn't have anything to do. Piper asked me. I said yes. You?"
"Piper was begging me to come, then she had Hazel come and ask me and I said yes so they would stop bothering me."
"Of course, Piper..."
Nico looked confused. "What?" "Nevermind..."
Piper was trying to set us up, of course! It was the Aphrodite in her. "So," I asked, trying to make small talk. "Where did you grow up?" I asked, half knowing the answer. "I was born in Italy, but my dad took me and.." His voice faltered. We hit a weak point in the conversation. "It is ok we can talk about something else." "No," he said, not with as much remorse as before. "My sister, my mom and me were sent to Las Vegas. My dad took us to a hotel. My mother died when Zeus struck the hotel with lightning. We went to the Lotus Casino. We were there for over fifty years, then a lawyer took us to school. One night at a school dance, Percy, Annabeth, Thalia and Grover showed up and rescued us.. well rescued me..."
A waiter came up and asked us what us would like to eat and drink. We placed our order. The waiter came back with our drinks. "Since you were dieing to know, I grew up in Puerto Rico. As you may know, I worked with Cierce while at her salon before I met those two lunatics," she said jokingly, gesturing towards Annabeth and Percy, "And I spent my life with me and my sister and the pirates. Shortly later, I came to Camp Jupiter, and the rest is history." Nico's eyes flicked between my eyes and the floor trying to choose a spot to gaze at. He finally looked down at the floor completely and mumbled "We should be getting our food by now." As if by magic, the waiter from before came, bearing the platters adorned with their food. We thanked him, ate and continued talking. We talked for the rest of the meal then headed out of the restaurant with the rest of the group.
(This is the part I gave up and left for about three months. Me, being the trooper I am, and wanting to finish this, am writing at a time on Monday night I shouldn't be, 10:10 to be exact, screw it. I'm not sure what perspective, person or tense the first part was in, so the next part will be screwed up. My newer writing style from here on.)
"To the ice cream!" Leo shouted, running to the shop front, pointing with one hand at the shop and dragging Calypso behind him. Jason, Piper, Frank and Hazel walked quietly behind them. "You would think after Khione..." Jason muttered. Piper shot him a glare and they continued walking. They went into the shop.
"What do you want Reyna?" Nico asks her, wanting to help her decide before he had to make up his mind.
"I don't care, I'll try whatever."
"Good, we can share." He orders vanilla chocolate swirl and sit down with Reyna.
"I think I'll like whatever you like." She takes a spoon and tries some it.
"I like you." Nico whispers. The boy blushes and the girl looks up from the spoon, smiling.
THE END! After three months of neglect, it is done! It literally took only six minutes, but procrastination ftw! Also, it is November 30, and for those wondering, I like to be able to keep track of what dates I write, so that's why I put date, time, place etc.
